As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

G58: "I said nothing about the poster asking if I was black. Nothing at all so don't assume.
"Look at both sides of the conversation before you attack."
Really, nothing at all? So what exactly does this answer to ODH1 indicate?
ODH1: "BTW, are you black ?"
"Stop getting personal, it is against the forum rules."
In my opinion asking legitimate questions are not an attack, perhaps some self reflection is due.

Adoption
Dec 19 2013
The Prime Minister invited Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman and his wife, the adoption advocate Deborra-Lee Furness, to Kirribilli House on Thursday to announce that his government would deliver "reform on overseas adoption" within 12 months.
12 months have passed now.
Yet despite Mr Abbott's enthusiasm, a leading adoption advocate says the last thing Australia needs is another review into the adoption system when the federal and state governments had not "implemented the recommendations from the last one".
May 2014
Together with adoption advocate Deborra-Lee Furness, Mr Abbott also announced that Australia has set up an intercountry adoption program with South Africa, as part of his move to make overseas adoptions easier for Australians.
Big deal, one country
Another overseas adoption expert, Marilyn Nagesh, questioned why Mr Abbott set up a new government group on overseas adoptions when he had disbanded the National Intercountry Adivsory Group when he came into government, as part of a move to rationalise non-statutory bodies.

In my opinion that particular question is personal in nature, same as asking/commenting on whether a poster is male or female.
ODH1 has a habit of making personal comments.

Apply the basic classic response, not waffle.

The Reshuffle
on 23-12-2014 07:53 PM
Before even being sworn in as Australia's 52nd Defence Minister, Mr Andrews was forced to reassure the military community of his commitment to the task after it emerged he had once declared he had "no interest in defence issues".

Boris you really do seem to live in the wrong country. We are a Capitalist free enterprise country not a hard socialist or communist country. I think and this is just my opinion that you would be be far happier in one of the true socialist and or communist countries around the world... You ever thought about moving somewhere that has a socialist or communist political system more akin to your beliefs.
Or would you prefer to see Australia change into a true socialist/communist country?
