Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

The PM declared that he has changed... then promptly turned his back on Plibersek when she rose to speak, as usual.

See I wonder what ousting the Prime Minister would have achieved anyway? I am amazed that 44% of one news poll I read with over 600,000 voters (or something to that effect) backed Malcom Turnball who has already been a failed leader.

What would have changed?  the polices are not going to change over night.  You would have ended up with a different sales man/woman pitching their sales spill to the Australian people.  That's it.   They need fresh blood, better ideas and policies that are fair to ALL Australians. In fact both parties need an overhaul, they need to be in touch with the Australian people while balancing the best interests of the country.  Having said that it would not surprise me if Abbot does not fact another leadership challenge in the near future.

John for the record I am not a Gimme Gimme kind of girl!! I believe we need policies in the best interests of the country while ensuring our most vulnerable are protected.  See its not necessarily about handing out money as opposed to having decent policies that promote independence and engage people to be active in our nation and community.  All Australians have a role to play in ensuring we have a great nation.

That's my humble opinion, I am sure others have different opinions and that's great. In the end I think we all need each other, diversity of opinion is a strength and I think we all learn from each other.

Did you see this post in another thread?

I also think there'll be more to come Bella. they would be crazy to go into an election with such a generally disliked leader. but it would be a good thing for the other side I suppose.

The libs already know they would lose around 40 seats in the next fed election under abbott

I have to say, from what I've seen so far today, it looks like nothing is going to change Smiley Indifferent

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

So many empty vessels from both sides in here

Must be the only way some can see their words in print ?

Full or part-time employment or voluntary work might be a better alternative and make a more worthwhile contribution to society

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

I wonder why people read this thread then?  I never read some threads ever, for example,  the music theme thread, should I be popping in there and telling them they would be better of working part time or doing volunteer work instead of posting with like minded posters? I never thought of doing that.

I have actually seen these same words posted by another poster? Must be the only way some can see their words in print ?

There is more to live than monetary gain outside the home.  How does anyone posting here know whether other posters do volunteer work or not? Simple answer, they don't.Smiley Happy

p.s words posted here are not in 'print'.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

I missed the twinkling, searching for "twinkle",   but I did say it was a cursory search'. However  the other posts do not actually answer my question as to which other posters mentioned a twinkle in Julie B's eye...  because in this side debate the term "twinkle" has a specific connotation!.

As for research and accuracy, your first comment below from a past post was in regard to the "spill", not the PM's long-term  future ( I know the past is not your favourite topic), whilst the second is fiction.

"That is not the point I made in my post though is it?   The PM is about to be ousted..........."  kudosR down.jpg

" He hasn't been in the area he was in the last couple of days for 10 years...................."  kudosR down.jpg

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Good spotting polks, we have to keep an eye on that 'issue'. My take she is just laying low at present. I don't think (yes, my opinon only!) that Abbott would dismiss here. We posted earlier about that didn't we? That he would'nt cope without her.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

There's nothing wrong with anyone giving their opinion, but all I can suggest to you is that if you don't like the posters/posts here, there are plenty of other threads to lurk on or contribute to. I doubt anyone posting here will stop giving their opinions, whether someone thinks they're empty vessels or not
