Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Abbottโ€™s poll bounce in danger of deflating

Tony Abbott isnโ€™t focussing on polls. Thatโ€™s what he said with a straight face to reporters in the Queensland city of Mackay.

Never mind that every waking minute since the near-death experience his leadership survived in February has been focussed on turning around the publicโ€™s view of him and his government.

The culmination of the clawback strategy was last weekโ€™s budget. The evidence of the four opinion polls since the Treasurerโ€™s second effort at fiscal management is of a bounce. The weeks and months ahead will determine if itโ€™s a dead cat bounce or another instalment on the path to recovery and dominance.

The Prime Minister says his focus, every day, is on whatโ€™s good for Australia. The trouble is this yearโ€™s prescription in that regard is a world away from last yearโ€™s.

But the polls suggest he has successfully papered over those cracks in credibility and not all in his party room are convinced the paper will hold. Itโ€™s the next weeks and months that will be critical.

โ€œHeโ€™s not out of the woods yet,โ€ was a common view of backbenchers worried about their seats.

As far as Trade Minister Andrew Robb is concerned, they are too pessimistic. He says he didnโ€™t need a poll to know the budget hit the mark.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

"You must have a very poor memory and no, I'm not going back in the thread to find it. You've also posted numerous (un-named resource) comments from the Daily telegraph you posted them, you find them. I remember them very well so not neccessary for me to search for them."

What do I say other than:  you are full of  "codswallop" .   If you are challenged in a debate to confirm/authenticate a statement and are unable to, or avoid so doing,   the conclusion is that you are fabricating  that statement.

Try the defence : " it was a test to see if you and others picked it up."

The Board Advanced Search protocol is adequate, use it, otherwise frankly  without (believable) authentication I find it hard to believe I posted a Dean article. So I do not believe you. (ask the captain to search).

I do wonder why the DT , or Dean, is considered "un-sourceable",  well apart from your affiliations,  when you blithely quote a Jakarta Post article that is obviously nonsense:

(using Board "search" try it)    D9275 (23 March 2014)

"here is something interesting I noticed last night"

http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2015/03/23/australia-sends-illegal-immigrants-back-ri-territory.h...

I know,   " it was a test to see if you and others picked it up."

Still wonderiing what you get out of repeating the same thing (not directly related to any content of posts, C&P) and posting same images repeatedly.

Not at all interested in the Abbott Govt, their policies?

Budget small print

HEALTHY KIDS CHECK AXED BY ABBOTT GOVERNMENT

A comprehensive health check for children aged three to five has been scrapped by the federal government to save about $144 million over four years, angering GPs and speech pathologists.

In last week's budget, the Abbott government axed Medicare funding for the "Healthy Kids Check", a consultation with a nurse or GP to assess a child's health and development before they start school. Funding for the program will stop in November.

The scheme, introduced by the Labor government in 2008, includes assessments of a child's height and weight, hearing, eye sight, oral health, toilet habits and known or suspected allergies to ensure parents understand the risk of anaphylaxis and how to prevent it.

That's a really short sighted move which will probably cost more in the long term.

The eye and hearing tests - particularly important that any problems there are picked up before a child starts school.

Do try and stay on topic ( current govt) and keep your old hang ups out of this thread.

By the way the cartoons posted in this thread are from mainstream media, not in the least bit offensive. Total exaggeration there. Same with 'offensive' graphics.LOL

I am entitled to reply to any thread at any time and post my opinion. That's debateable and applies to everyone. Posts that are offensive, hostile, interpersonal, purely made to disrupt a thread can be edited, removed, sanctioned - see how you go with that one.

You are not a mod so  don't try to order me as to what I can post or not post and lecturing me on whether I'm on topic is not your place.

I will enter any thread I like and post any opinion I like, just like you do.

Ok, last reply to you.

idlewhile wrote: Also, the too many to count, offensive graphics and endless c&p's, just scroll back on this very thread.

On any thread that supports our government it's bombarded by the left's cartoons, endless c&p's by the biased left wing media, obscure left hate sites happily re posted.

You complained about posts, images, etc here and in other threads in your 2nd  post today - take your own advice 'you are not a mod' What  are you doing in this thread, complaining about past posts that don't suit your view, posts that don't contravene any board usage rules?  You haven't made one on topic post today.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

for godness, here's a recent example but there are more ( and I can't be bothered)

your post

The AFR article was titled:

Bill Shorten's leadership tottering after 'let's have ideas' gaffe

More apt would be                      Bill Shorten's 'let's have ideas'  chuckle

Oh Gosh the timing is within the acceptable history period,  but it is applicable to an Opposition not a Govt. Would that make it proscribed?  Anyway as there are  likely to be very few Shorten ideas, or policies to C&P, I can not see it becoming a problem within The Sandpit!

my post

by ROWAN DEAN!

in most of your posts, you do not give credit to sources. but they are easily found

Two post-budget polls show the Government is back in voters' good books, but how long this lasts will depend on the ill-advised equity war Scott Morrison seems determined to fight, writes Paula Matthewson.

Two post-budget opinion polls have thudded onto our electronic doorsteps this morning, heralding good news for the Prime Minister and Treasurer on their "save our jobs" budget.

Yet the man feted only a week ago as the master budget salesman, Social Services Minister Scott Morrison, has suddenly gone missing in action
