How exactly does someone dying forgive everyone's sin "past present and future" ????
The people that persecuted and killed Jesus was merely doing what God wanted, coz' Jesus had to die right. Even Judas was following God's order.
I have asked this question time and time again. What exactly does Jesus Dying prove? What exactly did he sacrifice???
The basis of Chrisitianity is the belief that God sacrificed himself to himself to save us from himself. Sounds crazy right. But it's true.
There is a big difference between God knowing what was going to happen and Him MAKING it happen. The pharisees had freedom of choice to act in the manner they did.
No it doesn't sound crazy. I can understand how someone who hasn't developed a relationship with God would think it was crazy. The difference between you and I Bob is that I don't feel the need to make you have the same beliefs as I do.

Who created the rule of Law??? Why torture and kill someone to make a point???
The idea of Atonement is morally reprehensible. Do you even know it EIEW??? I never got why Christians think it's OK for someone else to pay for your crime if you weren't guilty of it in the first place.
Isn't it INCREDIBLY powerful and humbling that Jesus had such love in his heart that he gave up His life for our redemption. Would I want someone to give up his life for me ? No, but I am incredibly grateful that He did.

Jesus IS GOD and one the same. So this whole torturing and killing is just a waste of time.
Why is this story so hard for you to get?
Jesus was God in a form that people would not fear. God had appeared to many before Jesus' time and people did not recognise Him. Jesus came to Minister / teach.

Which proved that Jesus sacrificed nothing. Even historians all agree that there's no evidence Jesus ever resurrected.
If you want to have faith in something. Have it in something honourable and moral.
I cannot imagine anything much more honourable than laying down your life so that an entire species can be saved. Jesus was moral and honourable. And before you spout about Jesus being angry in the temple...that was righteous anger. Righteous anger is not a sin. The Father's Temple was being used as a den of iniquity. If your Father's home was invaded by thiefs and pillagers, how would you act to remove them...saving them from their crimes and restoring order in the house ?

God initially gave Adam and Eve rules. They chose not to follow them. God gave us the 10 Commandments. The world still showed they could not live by them. God saw that the world needed more...an example to follow...a blueprint (so to speak). That is when He sent Jesus. The pharisees and religious leaders at the time didn't like their authority being challenged and were threatened by Jesus. When Jesus did not recognise their authority and challenged them, they chose to torture and murder Him.
And Jesus interceded on their behalf and begged His Father to forgive them.
And I absolutely agree, the New Testament and the New Covenant is what we should all be living by. "A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another as I have loved you".

Bob - every time I read one of your posts about Jesus, his life and death, the need for sacrifice / atonement, I think how blessed I am to know. I would explain it to you, but then I would be accused of 'pushing my own beliefs' , so you'll just have to keep wondering.
and No, Jesus is NOT 'GOD and one and the same'.
