Hope I don't insult you here,
But it's something that has never crossed my mind that there are 70 year old intellectually hand caped persons out there and that somebody has to look after them , just go's to show no matter how broadly your life is or how worldly you are there is always something that eludes you
kilroy there was nothing insulting about your post. Everyone says how do you do it. Sometimes I say "I just close my eyes and jump'
Little story.
Years ago I was back in Melbourne for 16 months Channy was 5 and Graham (brother) was 53. Mum had died so I was now it.
I was working 1/2 days. Graham would go to care and Channy to preschool.
A friend came to stay for a few days and arrived on the Sunday night late (important factor) Channy and Graham were asleep (another important factor).
Monday morning busy myself with the getting readies.
My friend says, oh for goodness sake just leave them here with me, how hard can it be. She did say it in a bit of a know it all way, after all she was a cub leader and she knew how to handle situations.
Being the gracious person that I am, I smiled sweetly and said well not hard at all. I thanked her and off I went.
The first thing she said to me when I arrived home about 4 1/2 hrs later was "How the fark do you do this'
She didn't offer to have them again. Well not together.
