FOO News

001.JPG

As can be seen in the photo, Foo has had a blood test done today.

i noticed a swelling on his snout on friday morning so took him in to the vets friday afternoon.

the swelling is thought to be a tooth abcese.

whilst at the vets the vet noticed looking at Foos weight he had lost over 2 kilos since last december and about 5 kilos in a year!

hence the blood test, i will get the results tomorrow afternoon.

hes on anti biotics for his swelling and its allready gone down since friday.

the vet his holding off on the tooth problem until she gets the results from the blood test.

hes 11 years old, i'm not panicing but i am worried.

fingers crossed its not what it might be, cant even say it.

Re: FOO News

It will David,

He has been through a lot in the past few days - it will take him a bit of time to come good.

He has the best Dad - he knows it - look how comfy he is - well - for his shape & size.

A very good outcome - for a very worried parent.

i think the knee is his most painful area, hes not into long walks yet, we just go far enough for him to find his 'spot' then come home and

Re: FOO News

What a sweetheart of a dog, he is recovering so well and being so good ... Heart

Is there anything you can give him via the Vet to help with the aches and pains?

Wish I could give him a big hug and tell him how brave he is.

hes on another course of antibiotics.

cats and dogs do have a natural ability to get over things we wimpy humans would be laying in bed calling for 'more pain relief people!' dont they.

if foos lump wasnt right on his knee where hes constantly streching the skin i doubt hed even notice it.

Re: FOO News

Rosie reminds me of my Himalayan cat Abby.  She used to sleep on her back on my bed with her head hanging over the side of the bed.  It was not unusual when she was very sound asleep to see her disappear ever so gracefully over the side onto the floor.

She landed with a plop and a rather startled meow......then back onto the bed to repeat the performance.Smiley LOL

If Foo makes his wound bleed by chewing it the best thing to use to cover it is Vetwrap bandage.....it is flexible and sticks onto itself so no pins or clips needed to keep it in place.   It comes in wild colours and is usually available from your vet...you may find it available online when you buy your dog and cat food.  I used to get it at the local saddlery.  We always had it on hand for the horses.   My daughter found it great for her kids when they were young.....they could not manage to get it off as easily as an ordinary bandage.

Edit.....I have just checked on ebay and the Vetwrap is readily available.....much cheaper now than when I was buying it.
