For those that comment against conditions

For those that complain against social isolation and other measures to contain coronavirus citing relatively low casualty rates , and so seeking reducing or removing mitigation social conditions,  Ask yourself this : without the current containment measures how many extra cases would they be ? would our hospital system be overwhelmed and what would be the consequences , and would this result in proportionally many more severe cases, and so many more deaths . Think of those countries who did not respond quick enough. and ask yourself where you would rather live at this time .

I haven't seen anyone here complain about the social isolation measures so you may be preaching to the converted.

I havent seen people complaining BUT I have seen posts where people are going out to have breakfast, having non family members visit for a beer, going to the hair dresser, going out to get their car washed  etc etc

So perhaps not everyone has yet been "converted"

And if they bring food to help a bloke out?

Is this not compassionate?

Can I see my friends?

We know it's tough, but catching up with friends in person may not be the best idea right now.

You can't gather with any more than one other person who doesn't live in your household, and you shouldn't be leaving the house at all unless it's essential.

Some states have outlined exceptions to this like caring for others and compassionate grounds, so if you have a friend who needs some help, you may be able to visit them solo, depending on where you live and your reason for doing so.

If you are seeing a friend, try and maintain the 1.5 metre distance rule, wash your hands regularly and don't sneeze on people.

Those that matter definitely don't read the boards, would be my guess. All the same, it is a global forum of sorts.Smiley Happy

The real problem is that those who matter are not necessarily experts either, with this virus situation. They are flying by the seats of their pants and taking us along for the ride.

We can only hope that with collaboration with medical professionals and other planners, they will come up with some effective strategies.

Those that matter, wouldnt reply to you if you asked them something directly to their face

Spoiler
unless they had a microphone and TV camera nearby

I think its hilarious when " Those that matter " go on feel good TV adverts saying " We're all in this together "

Yeah Right.......I,m sure when I get Corona Virus and end up in one of those makeshift emergency hospitals in a caravan park somewhere, Tracy Grimshaw, Richard Wilkins and Peter Dutton will be in the beds along side mine............Man Very Happy

Maybe they did not consider sub-contracting out their nursing staff to frontline public hospitals a win/win solution.

I suspect Chinese concerns model themselves on a version of American capitalism , which may lead to misunderstandings when operating in Australia , where the concept of the fair go clashes with profit at all costs

(Same as US management coming to our rescue where they often presume we conduct ourselves the same as they in their country)
