Re: Four Corners tonight on Halal

The issue is bigger than your computer chair. Personally, I have no problem with Halel, BUT, I know of a truckie ( of chickens) who decided not to pay when it came round. Got blackballed.

Why would a truckie need to pay?

That's where the extortion part comes in.

The truckie has to pay to make sure his truck is Halal making sure that the Halal chickens aren't contaminated with pork products.

what is the opposite of 'choice'?

In the context of products for sale in you local supermarket I guess the oposite of choice would be monopoly. For example Coles and Woolies seem to be pushing more and more of their homebrand products so the choice of alternative brands is becoming more and more restricted,. Which is why I don't shop at Coles or Woolies if I can help it.

anyway, back to the context of this

discussion:

The whole point of Halal certification is that the product is labelled and identifiable, but I suppose anyone unable or unwilling to read labels before buying might complain they were being conned into donating.

not all products that are certified

are labelled.

Anybody with any common sense would be well aware that a truck that transports chickens is quite different to a truck that transports pigs..........

unless the difference lies in the finished product, not the live animal?

. A refrigerated truck can transport pig meat as well as chicken meat.

Re: Four Corners tonight on Halal

google halal transport certification

and read about what happens to those

drivers who refuse to pay for certification

it does not only refer to refrigerated trucks

or live transport.
