Gladys should have shut down earlier

NSW had a lot to learn from Victorians.  I wish them the best  but why did it take Gladys a month to realise that pussyfooting around this would do her no favors.

Now it looks like Morrison is throwing her under the bus too, as he does with everyone.

Good grief - and all that has to do with the current Pandemic - how.??

I just reread the article you posted.

No mention whatsoever of ' no jab - no entry ' - it does however mention :

But when one truck driver accidentally made it a COVID-19 hotspot, 30 workers and their families were forced into isolation.

I'd say reasonable grounds.

Should have gone to spec savers. Title of article ...........South Australian pub bans interstate truck drivers over coronavirus concerns

While covering a range of topics, the main purpose of this particular conference was incorporating disability provisions into emergency planning. The States police commissioner was in attendance. In case it has slipped your attention, the pandemic is being administered under States of emergency provisions, overseen by each states police commissioner.

Anyway I have got sheep shearers coming on Monday. Enough going around in circles for today, I have got other things to attend too.

Re: Gladys should have shut down earlier

For some reason - which seems to have lost you is the fact the Hotel already had been named as a ' hot spot ' - due to the accidental introduction of the virus - by an interstate truck driver.

But when one truck driver accidentally made it a COVID-19 hotspot, 30 workers and their families were forced into isolation.

What - not a thought for the cost of the closing - deep cleaning - loss of income - the plight of 30 workers and their families forced into isolation - not even one.

All you can come up with is the pointless fact - in this case - discrimination. LOL

Have a good one.

Re: Gladys should have shut down earlier

The link I posted was for State based legislation, applicable to South Australia only. ( The state in which a hotel owner has decreed he will not provide service to interstate truck drivers ). His decision clearly breaches the legal requirements for a business to provide service to everyone equally in that state.

Your original news link contained a video which explained that the hotel owner is not refusing service - just in house service.

He has said he will provide take out service to these truck drivers and is allowing them to still park in the truck parking lot.

So, much ado about nothing really.

No discrimination is happening.   Just a publican's way of protecting his family.

Re: Gladys should have shut down earlier

I'm not advocating nor supporting a free for all, where people or businesses can randomly demand covid vaccinations.

And I am not necessarily in favour of a reopening where only vaccinated people can be served eg in a coffee shop.

But I do think that mandating covid injections in some selected positions is reasonable. For example, all workers in the quarantine sectors. It makes sense that they should have some protection and also that they should be less likely to pass it on if in contact with covid and less likely to start an outbreak.

I don't think it is necessarily putting people out of jobs. It may mean eg that a security guard may have to work in a different area of security and not in Hotel quarantine.

Same with hospital workers in aged care.

I can see the same applying to workers on cruise ships or perhaps flights.

But I wouldn't be suggesting it open slather, across every single element of society and in every job or circumstance.

It's about balancing individual freedom and the right of society to be as protected as possible and what is reasonable and the safest course in some situations.

Meanwhile, the Yerevan Yodeller, the supreme leader of Gladystan, the right dishonourable Osama Bin Chicken has decided to not front the cameras on a daily basis for updates because the press are finally turning up the heat. Perhaps she could send Chickens Cheka to arrest them, like they did with Kristo Langker. (Secret trials to be run by the feds as well as allocating the other states vaccines.)

The so-called medical experts have put this country on a road to economic destruction. The incompetent administrations at both state and federal levels are like a bunch of amateurs.

Not where I live! Thanks to our medical experts and State Government, WA is doing very nicely, thank you!

Businesses are legally obliged to prevent discrimination and harassment when providing goods, facilities or services to the public.

So would it be a breach of Australian Discrimination Laws if a bank decided to ban anyone from entering their premises  wearing a burqa?

Well, when the vaccinations jabs become mandatory or when forced vaccinations  jabs via proxy and stealth become common, your state will change. Depression, despair and suicides will  be on the increase. The realization that what Australian soldiers fought for in WWI and WWII has been mocked and disrespected will be too much for some people to bear. Fascism is creeping in as we can very well see, and none more evident than in the state of Victoria with NSW following closely behind.

As we know,  a small portion of people die from Covid-19, Influenza and Pneumonia.  With Covid-19, early stage treatment involving oral drugs supplemented with adequate vitamin and mineral under medical supervision has proven to be a winner with the very small amount of people who may otherwise die from the virus. Thank goodness some doctors remember the oath they took and what it stands for.

Politician Craig Kelly called the exclusion of this life saving treatment a crime against humanity. Well is it? The answer should be easy for any thinking person. Well how about doctors be forbidden to use drugs for  STDs or even septicemia, or other drugs that keep people alive??

Human rights are inalienable and to aid in the destruction of them is to disrespect what Australia should be as a society.
