it's 44 outdoors and 31 inside.
I have just been out hosing down my caged birds. The big boofheaded english budgie is not coping well.
I also had a king parrot on top of the cage that looked just about knackered. She didn't move when I sprayed her, nor did the rosella in the tree. The kingparrot is sitting on my top step now, she looks a bit better.
I've put a container of water under a tree down the paddock for the koalas and other natives.
I put the hose on the dog too, he wasn't the least bit grateful LOL

Not nekkid but have my togs on. Suppose to be 35 in bundy today...went into town early and it was blerk ! but not as blerk as bunnings!! wow, that place was so hot and heaps of people must have thought the same as us and went early. Got home and jumped in the pool and have been nice and cool since. The wind has been blowing a gale but I'm not complaining today because it helps keep us cool.
Going to go jump in again soon. When I didn't have a pool and it was hot, I'd fill the bath with cool water and stay in there.

It's 49.2 in the sun and 42.4 in the shade on my front verandah.
I'm on the way up to see you Gill.

not nekkid (now) I have hubby's truckie singlet on.
Soul, I spent half my childhood in the bath tub. I'd come home from school, fill the tub up, and play in it all arvo. Until I was old enough to go to the town pool on my own.

Didn't ya nuts get wrinkly?

only joking Gill.
Of course, having the PC on wouldn't be helping the heat inside. I'm turning mine off now ...

Phew! thought I might have to put some clothes on!!!

This morning there is a young galah asleep on the bird bath with his tail in the water. OH found another baby peewee on the ground. It's still alive but can barely fly.
Twinkles, I hosed my dogs bare belly
he hates it LOL. He was dry again within minutes. I hope we don't get the hot wind we had yesterday. It's only 35 outside so far.
Thank you again Pimpy for being so thoughtful and taking care of our native birds who simply can't tolerate this sort of heat without access to shade and plenty of water.
Little Lorikeets are relatively common, but because they don't gather in noisy flocks like Rainbow Lorikeets, and tend to inhabit the tops of the higher trees, they're quite difficult to spot.
This is my 30th year living in this particular house, and at 45.2 degrees in the shade on my front verandah, today was the highest temperature I've ever recorded (That's 113.5 degrees Fahrenheit for us oldies). 😉
Apparently, it should only reach around 32 tomorrow, but it looks like it may get back up to the very high 30s again on Monday, and I'm starting to get a bit concerned with all the bush being tinder dry at the moment. You take care up where you are, won't you?

At present it's 12˚ here and we are apparently going to 19˚
So different from up there. Yesterday we got to 14˚ with gale force winds and rain. No real sign of summer yet
