This over paid sporting thug should be in a US prison, not here in australia playing sport like nothing happened!

Some of these NRL thugs have become intoxicated by their egos.

It was a vicious and cowardly attack upon innocent people in their own residence, and to the woman he had initally threatened.

Lodge was fortunate that victims didnt shoot him when he was in their home, or that the cops didn't fill him with lead.

To add insult, the NRL rewards him by still allowing him to continue playing, and earn some big bucks. Disgraceful !!

How pleased would Lodge be if some brain dead tosser (like him), had attacked a member of his family in the same fashion.

My opinion is he should have got the 25 years.

It appears that the NRL and its member clubs, not only condon this behaviour but reward them for this type of behaviour.

Shame on Lodge, the NRL and any team that signed him. Man Mad

Sure, the NRL could do a lot of things but i'm not seeing any signs they are going to.

the NRL are not his mum and dad, have not "made this monster" so why should they spend any money 'fixing' him?

hes a grown man, he needs to seek help all by himself. its easy, he takes himself to a doctor, tells the doctor his basic problems and asks to be referred to a specialist.

just like any of us.

help is available if he WANTS it, he doesnt need the NRL to hold his hand. and the NRL cant compel him to get help, but they can halt his ability to put on an NRL jumper and play rugby.

from where i stand all i see is the NRL and his club pretending the "incident" never happened. and if not for the story getting media attention it prolly would be forgotten.

Just head his coach said, we need to let bygones be bygones.

No, we dont, we need to send him back to the US to say sorry and make a deal to start paying the 1.6 million $ he owes them.

Lodge played in the NRL in 2014 and 2015. To say he  is not a "product" of the NRL is a misnomer. Here are his stats.

He would have been groomed well before 2014 by one of WT feeder clubs.

You've missed my point. I am suggesting that the NRL do not produce people like Lodge, they do not convert otherwise good people to bad people. Lodge owns his disordered personality and tendency towards aggression, it was not implanted in him by the NRL. He is responsible for his actions and his lack of remorse has not helped - it is a concern.

Sometimes the NRL will try and nurture a bad boy if there are indications that the person can be rehabilitated. And in instances it has worked. Some have gone on to have brilliant incident free careers. But others have been booted out because their disorder is too severe and they cannot control their off-field behaviour. The NRL do not groom players to be psychopaths - that is usually the product of an abusive and neglectful upbringing.

I didnt miss your point I disagree with your stance. Lodge was originally accepted by the league in 2014 regardless of his already

known dispresepect for females and society in general.

His poor character traits were not addressed but nurtured and encouraged through neglect and overlooked because of his athletic

ability.

Your words "sometimes the NRL will try and nurture a bad boy" confirm the fact.. ie if sometimes they nurture..then  what do they do with

bad boys the rest of the time???

What does the NRLdo with the bad boys that show no signs of rehabilitation??

I would proffer hide them at the back, put their hands over their ears, sing la la la, and hope the media keeps a lid on it.... once the

genie is out of the bottle then  they act.... because of public pressure... because it may harm their image..... and not because it is the

right thing to do.
