My Mums update thread

This thread is dedicated to my Mother and her recovery.

Photobucket

On Monday the 4th June 2007, while holidaying in the UK with my Father, my Mother was struck by a van while crossing the road.

Mum spent 88 days in various UK hospitals before finally being brought home back to Australia on the 30th August 2007.

She is currently in The John Whittle Nursing Facility with brain damage

I have set up this thread to keep you all updated on her condition and her improvements and hopefully one day, Mum will be able to read it.

Re: My Mums update thread

Amy,

I am so sorry to read this. I kind of feel like I'm intruding being here, because I don't generally post.

I just wanted to ask if there is any way you can fly to Dubbo? I'm not sure how far it is? But you certainly wouldn't want to drive in those circumstances.

Can you get some time off work to spend with your Mum?

I hope I don't upset you by asking, as I don't intend to do so....

Re: My Mums update thread

gothic- honestly i dont want to go to Dubbo at this stage.
I could go, stay for a week, she keeps hanging on, I come home and then she passes when i get home. I cant stay up there for weeks and weeks, i have a family here and a job. Mum wouldnt want me to be with her watching her die.
I will be going as soon as i get news that she has passed.

Last time i saw her in May i said to myself i didnt want to see her again in that state, or worse. If i go to her now, i will see her at her worse and i dont think i could deal with that
