good luck today Freddie, really I think it should be just about finished up by now. I don't know how you are managing without your bathroom for so long.

Were you told 2 days for a complete bathroom makeover?
Did you ask for references from previous clients and sign a contract?
Unless he is a registered plumber / builder there will be no work guarantee certificate issued.

Morning Bushie 🙂 and everyone.
freddie, when we had a burst pipe that required cutting into the shower recess, the time quoted to replace the shower and tiles was two weeks. That was the insurance licensed plumber, who was well known in this area so trusted I guess. Not had the work done but that sounded like a reasonable timeframe for it.
so sorry it has been one thing after another for you Freddie
tradies never put their tools down in the obvious place it is always where they can chip things

There are good and bad "tradies" whether registered or not .....

Everything always takes longer than expected, hope he gets it done today Freddie, you might find it difficult to get anyone to finish it at this time of year.
Very happy with my kitchen, still a few little things to do but nothing I can't do myself. My gyprock guy is coming back to a little sanding and then on to the painting, hoping I can now relax and enjoy it.
Our bathroom reno took about a month of weekends, with me doing some cleanups and removals during the week. I thought it would be a week!

In 4hrs he's removed 4 tiles and replaced them, he's finished installing the mixer over the hand basin in the vanity, he's installed the shower screen minus the door (due to needing to allow the silicon to set first) he's done the silicon around the vanity shower screen and grouted the remaining top tiles of the shower recess.
I think my chat has hit home.

it's getting there Freddie....

Thanks everyone for propping me up over the past few weeks I so appreciate everyones support
I think he needed a stern talk and direction, i'm amazed how much he's done since the chat. I explained to him how stressful this has been on both of us due to the time it's taking to complete what he told us would take 2 days. I understand there were some minor hitches but they were doable and shouldn't have taken the time this has taken to complete. He's moved faster this morning then he's moved since he started the job.

Freddie, always we've found when we've been renovating, no matter what it is we're doing, some other problem always crops up, it's never sort of cut and dried.
on the bright side though, your home is yours and you will get it to look exactly how you want it to.
much better than renting imo
you know when all the work is done, you'll forget what it was like being without your bathroom for awhile because it'll all be so beautiful
