After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

My issue is, he came he quoted he told us 2 days. I am aware there were a couple of hold up's but he has been sloppy with his work ethics, his head appears scattered due to his inability to complete one job before going onto the next. There is no excuse for placing 2 tiles the wrong way, there is no excuse for being so careless as to drop a heavy tool onto brand new tiles. There is no excuse for placing a power point crooked and where the vanity mirror is to go when he was made aware of the length of the mirror. There is no excuse for uneven/ tiles on the floor and walls.
I have proven he was time wasting as evidenced today after expressing my feelings about the length of time he was taking to finish this job. He finished in 4 hrs what would have taken him 2 days.

You honestly believed it could be done in 2 days? Perhaps he said 2 weeks or meant 2 weeks due to a slip of the tongue.
Obviously he is not a professional tiler. Lesson learnt, only use a qualified trades person. Not a nice experience.

No I just said he told me/us 2 days.
I have never done a reno before so I accepted his 2 days because he's the builder not me. I also realised the few unexpected issues would result in it taking a bit longer but not heading for 3 weeks and double the quote.

2 days are 2 days and not 2 weeks.

I'm not going all the way back there, but if he's that incompetent
did he actually do waterproofing - and properly, freddie?

Yes he did stawks we made sure he did that we bought everything so we know what was used. I frowned this morning when he told me he would do the tiles in his time because that was his mistake. Ummm what's time got to do with this a quote was for a monetry amount not an hourly rate.

Like I said....maybe he meant 2 weeks and 2 days was a slip of the tongue, an error. I can't imagine anyone would expect a full new bathroom completed in 2 days.....experienced or not.
Is he actually a registered builder? I would be concerned if he's not.

Ummm noone was expecting anything until the professional builder quoted and told us 2 days we were both with him and we both heard 2 day's likewise we both expected it would be a little longer due to a couple of unexpected hold ups, but not close on 3 weeks.
