I have been buying things from op shops since I was a teenager. I love browsing through the weird and wonderful things you might find.
Some are better than others, sometimes it's nothing but junk and then other times you can walk out with bags of amazing things!
Who else here is addicted to op shopping, and which ones do you think are the best to buy from?

I got some brand new boots recently at Vinnies for $5. They're great, leather outer with corduroy lining and so warm.

Some oppos have a staff member with a home puta.(and little knowledge of collectables).
Noticed in a glass cabinet--a shabby book-cover hanging off and purple
library stamps on the title page-no fly leaf or half title page.
Under this "item" was a print out from an auction on here (not sold yet).
The print out was of a perfect copy of a book with a DJ-signed by the author.
It was priced at $140.00--in makring pen was----same book-our price $125.00.lol...........Richo.

Me and my-now-ex used to enjoy going to the op shops. Sometimes, we'd find nothing that we wanted; other times we would find some treasures. I always found it hard to leave without buying a book or two or three....

God I hate when they mark prices on things with those felt-tip pens, Richo.
It's not so bad on porcelain although if there's any crazing it's virtually impossible to remove after it's seeped underneath the glaze..
But on books! Shudder...
I have a Dickens "Oliver Twist" book with $2 emblazoned proudly on the front cover in texta. Luckily it's just a recent reprint.

Icy-the marking pen was on the print out.--the book was a fire lighter.
Have seen good books ruined by marking pens with a large 50 cents on
the front cover.........................Richo.

Did you do a Tour de Tassie? That's sounds like a lot of op shops.
I don't remember seeing that many, but then I wasn't on the hunt for them
