I am becoming fascinated with Perth!
Tell me everything! What are the nice areas? What's not so nice?
Is East Victoria Park a nice area? What about Mt Lawley?
How cold does it get in winter? Many people? Is it busier now?
Why have you got sandy soil over there? Is it everywhere? LOL
Pictures please ๐

Hi Clair, I love Perth, wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Victoria Park is very close to the city but still the best side of the river ๐ property is expensive there. Mt Lawley is the WRONG side of the river! Very expensive property wise!
The weather here is fantastic in summer, dry and hot, not a lot of humidity, mostly very high 30s. Winter blerk I hate it but its bearable, we get very few frosts, come to think of it I can't remember the last time I saw ice on the windscreen?
I live in the hills, no sand up here, just clay and coffee rock.

I love WA, I wouldnt live anywhere else.
Victoria Park is OK, looks a bit dirty and dated, lots of very old apartment blocks that are pretty outdated. Lots of different cultures living and working there and a couple of the surrounding suburbs. As a result, there is some great places to eat down the strip.
I work in the city itself, but there is little of interest there. (IMO).
Winter is mild, the days are around 13-17 degrees, the nights can get very cold. Summer is better, 34-40 degree days, 25 at night, its awesome. LOL.
Yeah its busy, main arterial roads struggle almost every morning/afternoon while everyone is trying to get to work.
Apparently, its becoming a very expensive place to live though. Housing shortages. Rising utility costs etc. But I doubt in reality its any worse than anywhere else.

I become less and less impressed by the place the more I'm forced to visit it, thank god pretty rarely now.

Pretty much everything Lic said...Has gotten much busier in recent years, not nearly as busy as Melbourne and Sydney though. Must have something going for it, so many people coming here.
Mt Lawley, very close to the city, some really nice homes, expensive to buy, hideous traffic around there.
East Vic Park, close to the city, old and expensive, not a place I'd aspire to live.
The sand, I have that sand in my yard, very hard to garden in, becomes impervious to water. It's ok if you live in the hills or further out of the metro area, then you can get rocks, lots of them.
Pictures, I'll have to see if I can find any.
