Does anybody know if eb intends making a tool available to alter profile pics to include a rainbow, as facebook has done worldwide? The tool is dedicated to the U.S. amendment to allow same sex marriage that the whole world is meant to embrace, .. apparantly. Supporters of this amendment can show their support by altering their profile pic to include this rainbow. Would be great if eb did follow fb on this, it would be another great tool in deciding where to shop, and where not to.

I get that, but you're suggesting stores take on the symbol,
so you can decide your buying preferences

Why even bother bring your sexual orientation or political view into online sale platform?

So you want to give your preference to business who has the same sexual orientation or political view as you?? What has sex and politics has to do with the services a potential seller has to provide you?

No I'm not suggesting anything of the kind - Just saying that if eb goes the same way as fb and google and people avail themslves to it, then I see it as an aid in deciding who I will , and will not, buy from - simple as that - No problems about that - I can see why you have posted your can of worms - but... well I'm just saying.

Exactly my point, you want to be able to discriminate those who do not hold the same political view/sex orientation on ebay, or at least put these sellers in preferences based on their views on this irrelevant matter, not on their merit as a seller. If not, why do you even bother asking for such a feature?
Ebay is different from FB, ebay is not a social network site, it is an online shopping site. You're not here to make friend or to show support to a particular viewpoint or organisation with Likes. Your'e here to make purchases or sell things. This has nothing to do with a person support same sex marriages or not.

It's political. Ebay won't go down that road

No more likely to happen than sellers that sell goods that others find distasteful such as goods with racist slogans.

Well now , that's the type of response I've been looking for - I know your a long time eb member and know far more than I do about how things operate and really your opinion is just the sort of stuff what I've been trying to pry from other long time members - My op must not have been clear about what I expected as an outcome.
