Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

After being locked out i.e., not able to sign in, and trying to jump thru all the hoops re non appearing emails and phone numbers no longer connected it has just become easier to register a new, all be it very similar, posting id.

So this is the new improved lurker ๐Ÿ™‚ . Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

This is just getting weirder!!! I just got an email from ebay titled Important: Password Update. It says, in part,
"What I ask of you:
Go to eBay and change your password. If you changed your password on May 21 or later, we do not need you to take any additional action at this time."

So I go to ebay, try to sign in and get flicked to the Reset Your Password page again, asking me to chose email or phone options all over again. This is doing my head in!

Re: Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

lurker, happens to me when i try to sign-in, reverts me to a change password page a box to place your email address or something. is that why you can't sign-in sometimes too?

i just sign-in to 'my ebay' then found signing into the boards no problem

even with making a new ID it still might revert you to that page

Signatures suck.

Re: Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

What is really kinda annoying me is that I didn't just sit around doing nothing. As soon as I knew about it I tried several times to change my password before they locked me out this morning. Their systems obviously weren't up to it. So through no fault of my own I've "lost" that account. I wonder how many buyers/sellers are in the same position and walking away?

Sorry to go all stawkerish on ya, but you changed your id today.

And not just the new improved lurker.

By the way, just to confuse things even more, your new lurker

has a new post count.   Yet all the old lurker id posts have been

updated to the new id. Sorry, do you follow that?

Re: Resetting passwords - the merry-go-round ride

hahaha ummm no?
Can you see the old lurker? And does it say my id changed to the new one? I can't see how that would be possible. I used a new gmail email address (the old now was hotmail and nothing like the new one) and a slightly changed name (an abbreviation of my real name). NOTHING about the 2 lurkers are anything like each other.
