I think Coles have a 1 hr seniors etc shopping hours tomorrow. I'm not going to bother, will take my chances at Aldi. If I cant buy the items I need, so be it, I am sure I will cope.

Coronavirus panic buying still leaves empty Woolworths shelves for elderly shoppers during dedicated hour
this plan has worked so badly you would think a govt comittee dreamt it up

One would hope that if an 80 yo walked in without a card they'd be sensible enough to let them in.
How about 77 years old.
There are a lot of 70+ year olds who do not have government cards of any description but they still need to access the shops.
If age is going to be a criteria then accept any legitimate proof of age document otherwise it is discrimination.
And what about helper shoppers , those younger who have been tasked to shop for the elder person.

They can fend for themselves in the aisles.
Older weaker people are being pushed aside by the panic merchants.

Not easy to do if they are also trying to look after the person they are caring for as well

I always call my partner a panic merchant and she had never heard of it before.

I think maybe many people have been considering how long quarantine has been in Wuhan and so are over time stockpiling if similar happens here - the thinking likely is that if such long time quarantine does not eventuate - what does it matter ? , the long life food and consumables would have been used anyhow
Of course to bad about those who have been left lacking.
However i have been surprised of the legal looting - such a large proprtion of society already lives a life style not far different from that of quaratine ....
