I'm told a lot of people refuse to shop at Aldi because you have to pack your own groceries, so maybe that has something to do with it. You'd think they wouldn't care as much at the moment but who knows how some people think? Maybe they just haven't thought of trying them.
It's a pity the virus isn't selective...
There would have been over 100 people waiting for Aldi to open, the car park was full and car were arriving every few moments, so I am thinking thats packing their own stuff wasnt worrying them greatly. Might also depend on the area, some people have more money than sense.

Aldi staff work fast, everything is streamlined and my guess is if they add a few more staff they can get the job done.
Until recently coles had extra stock ontop of the shelf which has been removed and now everything comes in daily. But my guess this model only works when replacing a low amount of stock. With the current levels they are going through and I think they tried to automate some of it they just can't keep up.

Saw on the NEWS, that some states are looking at reviewing the times that trucks will be allowed to make deliveries to the supermarkets. Surely a bit of truck noise is a small price to pay to have the shops well stocked with groceries.

This may have already been mentioned, but did anybody else receive an email from Woolworths last night inviting "vulnerable customers" to apply for Priority Assistance with online ordering? Vulnerable customers include individuals with a disability, Pensioner Concession card or Seniors Card. The link to apply for Priority Assistance was included in the email and the online form is brief and easy to complete.

Yeah, I got one, and filled it out.
Their intentions are good, let's hope it works.
Apparently they are taking the time to check the numbers provided with the relevant gov't departments
