one of the questions asked by the Aussie male was why he isn't even permitted to enter mecca? The answers given by the Muslim were telling! In short you can enter Mecca if you convert to Islam

i didnt know that.

are there any other holy places in the world

that are off limits unless you convert?

The Weld club in Perth

Only you can't 'convert' to obtain admission, you have to be born with the right credentials (a tail between your legs)

i was thinking more of famous sites -

sites that people would like to visit but

are unable unless they convert.

i wasn't really thinking of private clubs.

i am aware there are also women

only  fitness clubs.

so - are there any apart from mecca?

Also the Melbourne Savage Club

THE Melbourne Savage Club asks just three things of those aspiring to join its privileged ranks — that they offer fine company, love all things bohemian and be male.

ok - not sure what is happening here.

a deliberate attempt to divert from the topic

or a  misunderstanding.

Why do they want women covered head to toe in a burqa when the Australian custom is for women to wear bikini tops, high heels etc... I would rather that than someone fully hidden. Not knowing even what is under there. Looks scary to me. I'd say 99.9999% of Aussie would prefer women in bikinies. Am I right?

How many serious crimes have ever been committed in Australia by anyone wearing a balaklava?

i think the point is that one raises suspicion

and the other does not.

there have been crimes committed

by persons wearing a burka.

Murders? Bank robberies? Hijackings? Armed holdups? Kidnappings? Muggings? Home invasions?

Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

The last time I was inside a church, RC, was when a lot of children were receiving communion.  Everyone was beautifully dressed with respect, even me, an atheist and not a family member of any of the children.

My point being, although I did not accept the proceedings as anything I agree with, I behaved with respect for the children I knew and for the occasion.

Non-Muslims are not permitted to enter Mecca  by Saudi Law.

Why would you want to?

Considering the story about the Jewish men who refused to sit next to women on the plane I can't see them welcoming any scantily dressed women into their particular meeting place.

Friendships in the muslim village are mandated not negotiated. Should you happen to be a christian or jew (2014 version) muslims are not allowed to befriend you. That instruction is straight out of the users' manual; the koran. Remember the koran? It is the book that is very important to muslims (2014 version of a muslim that is).

I am here to tell you that is quite untrue.

Qur'an (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."

Qur'an (5:80) - "You will see many of them befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in chastisement shall they abide."  Those Muslims who befriend unbelievers will abide in hell.

Qur'an (3:28) - "Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them..."  This last part means that the Muslim is allowed to feign friendship if it is of benefit.  Renowned scholar Ibn Kathir states that "believers are allowed to show friendship outwardly, but never inwardly."

Qur'an (3:118) - "O you who believe! do not take for intimate friends from among others than your own people, they do not fall short of inflicting loss upon you; they love what distresses you; vehement hatred has already appeared from out of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater still; indeed, We have made the communications clear to you, if you will understand."  This verse not only warns Muslims not to take non-Muslims as friends, but it establishes the deep-seated paranoia that the rest of the world is out to get them.

Can you show me where in the Qur'an muslims are allowed to disregard parts of the Qur'an they find unacceptable (thanks to Jo Frost the Supernanny for that word).
