The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

Tas mentioned there was a good thread on - What's for Dinner.

Seems it ended up - a bit ' snooty '.

So - no fancy - dancy - stuff - just good fresh ideas for dins.

Oh - & Freddie - just loved the zucchini slice - if you could just put it here one more time - I swear not to lose it again.

And please - this time add the - zucchinis. lol.

Here - tonight - Chicken Schnit's with salad.

I'll try it with 2 sheets of shortcrust, but not today.

I have to make lamingtons today, and I won't have enough coconut.

Stawka, other option you could try is, getting some biscuits, Arnotts "Marie", "Shortbread" or "Nice"

Break them up, put them a food processer and start by adding about 70 grams of (room temp) unsalted butter chopped into small pieces.

Blend them until you have a mixture that is slightly moist. (You my need to add maybe an extra 10 grams or so of butter) Put that into the tray and use a spoon the press it down firmly.

Chances are this might work. This is similar to the cheese cake base. Smiley Happy

I use arrowroot biscuits in blender with melted butter and nutmeg for my cheesecakes.

I just warm the butter in saucepan so it's runny.

Re: The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

After not having my Pork roast Friday, or last night night (got home late)

I was grumbling today about it. Problem was my wife had to go out this afternoon and would not be home till about 7pm.

I should have stop complaining. ( I don't cook a lot of man meals, but sometimes help her.)

She told me to do it myself, and wanted it to be ready when she got home, and don't ruin it.

I had seen her rub salt & olive oil in the past, so figured to start there. Away I go.

Think I am doing quite good. 6.45 pm she walks in the door, and the roast isn't ready. Needs another 15mins or so.

Finally ready, dish it all up. I am waiting for either a compliment or bad review.

She says to me, come Tuesday, I am phoning the solicitor and getting him to stop the divorce proceedings. Smiley LOL

She loved all of it, especially the crackling. ( I cheated a bit, just before she arrived home, I peeled it off, put it in a small tin and put it under the grill for about 5 mins.

Tonight was roast pork. Smiley Very Happy

Re: The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

Smiley Frustrated   ... The cheesecake didn't quite happen.  I had all the ingredients, but then things became a little frenetic with visitors followed by unexpected guests on their way south and they stayed for an impromptu dinner, then Mr. Tas decided the time had come to paint the sunroom and mancave ceilings, so one thing led to another and the cheesecake project drifted into a time warp.

However, there is always this coming weekend ...  Smiley Tongue

I think that very few people would believe that.

Firstly, There is no way any crumbs would be left on the plate.

Secondly, The fork, it has to be eaten with a teaspoon. ( best to make it last as long as possible)

Finally, going back to my first sentence. I'm a gullible kind of guy, so I will believe it. Smiley LOL
