The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

Tas mentioned there was a good thread on - What's for Dinner.

Seems it ended up - a bit ' snooty '.

So - no fancy - dancy - stuff - just good fresh ideas for dins.

Oh - & Freddie - just loved the zucchini slice - if you could just put it here one more time - I swear not to lose it again.

And please - this time add the - zucchinis. lol.

Here - tonight - Chicken Schnit's with salad.

Re: The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

We had an 'olympic' dinner last night ... extremely athletic in the speed it was made ....  Smiley Indifferent

What with a couple of unexpected visitors, then another unexpected visitor at the same time, it had to be chicken tenderloins thrown into the pressure cooker with onions and stock and an unmeasured spoonful of curry powder .. then rice washed and hurled into a pot and left to its own devices .... somehow, it all worked and was totally edible ...  Smiley Tongue  .... thankfully, they brought dessert picked up at the local bakery on the way!

Sigh!!

Small chicken n camembert pies tonight.

Store bought so straight in the oven for 20 mins.

Had Peking duck last night with a bottle of baby Grange. Smiley Very Happy

Dad loved it.

Been there many times, well known place, Simon's Peking Duck Box Hill Sth but sadly we heard Simon passed away last month. Only 68 years old. He used to walk around and show newbies how to fold the duck pancakes joking with customers. A real character.

I'm at daughter's.  No mention of what's for dinner.

Probably open souvlakis again.

Sorry to hear about Simon, Kopes.   Very young.

Re: The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

Tonight we had some chicken soup that we had in the freezer.

I stopped in at my local IGA store late this afternoon and they had some Scotch Fillet on special, and cheap.

Was either $14.99 or $16.99 a kilo, it was in a slab, so I bought 2.

Each weighed just over 2 kilos.Smiley Happy

Have it in the freezer and will take it out in about half hour and slice it and bag it in freezer bags and put it back in the freezer.

You're right.   That is cheap.

We ended up getting the souvlakis delivered.

I always have an open one, and it was yummo.

Thai red curry chicken and green bean risotto here.  And I picked up a Apple, boysenberry and raspberry pie for half price so we demolished that too with some cream and icecream.

Stawks, I bought another lot from them a few months back that I think was around $18 a kilo.

It was very tender, so when I noticed they had it today I decided to but.

It's about 1/2 the price of what Woolies or Coles is.
