The Federal 2013 Election Thread

Hey everyone...

So, we all know theres an election coming up!

September the 14th is the big day. Like mentioned, plenty of time for us all to plan for that date.

Also means its going to be a looooooong campaign.

For the peace of the board, so everything else doesnt get pushed down by debates on policies and dirt and gossip (and digs at each other personally) etc, can we at all perhaps try to contain as much as we can in a thread much like this?

Theres bound to be plenty of healthy debate (particularly by a few members well known for their strong stance and support for a certain party) and its always easier to follow it etc in one place.

Should be an interesting year ahead! I know I for one am looking forward to it!

he has plenty of zombies resdy to flood social media with slogans already.. and he doesn't have to take rsponsibility for them ?

Wow I see that Craig Thompson is said to have been charged (or being charged) with 150 fraud charges!!

I guess I shouldnt be surprised but I am all the same.

The opposition are going to jump onto this one quickly no doubt.

Today at The Press Club Mr abbott decleard that his party wouls cut costs and decrease the cost of living

It appears that 'ol Tone can't control his own expenses.

How does Tony Abbott justify his Office Administrative Costs of $202, 065.73 compared to Julia Gillard's of $8,241.60 (that's more than twenty-four times Julia Gillard's expenses)?

Oh dear. He was a little embarrassing to watch today.

Fantastic speech by Abbott today, a breath of fresh air instead of the confected caring we get from PM Gillard, all the lies & spin, obfuscation & refusing to answere any hard questions.

Mr Abbott answered all the hostile questions honestly & clearly & nearly got a standing ovation after his speech.

We forget just what a good politician is,  after 6 years of deciet, spin & scandal from Labor.

So you're wearing LD's dress today. Clearly you saw a different speech to most other folk then. LOL at Mr Abbott squirming at the leaked e-mails.

So at least we have one thing released that is being slashed and that's the school kids bonus. Lots more slash * burn to come.

I'm really worried, I don't know who to vote for or how to guide my kids.  I don't like any parties at all.
