The matter of self-quarantine

Self-quarantine , a noble undertaking , consideration to one's neighbour and community , a civic duty - but how diligently completed ?

Consider the rate in which driver's are busted for speeding , year after year ..... and the rationale for.

Guys if Australia does not lock down completely  the virus will never leave the country, no one in or out of the country, complete isolation is the only way

Maybe.......

Declare an in-advance  4 week national stay at  home paid holiday for all except essential services ( work through the usual next annual leave to make up time , funded by Govt loans at nominal interest )

Mandate that all shops must have an online marketing presence with ordering support with free almost real-time local delivery

People have the spare money, now will have the time and motivation to rediscover lost skills , hobbies and projects

Coronavirus  dies out

Re: The matter of self-quarantine

That what we are doing in New Zealand, all schools are shut, only doctors, chemist, hospitals and super markets are open, not sure about banks because I do every thing on line.

A lot of super markets dont want to deal in cash and is card only, rubber gloves and hand sanitizer at the door

We are in lock down for 4 weeks maybe more will have to see the out come.

At least you guys will be able to see if it works

Essential means almost all shops - extra staff can deliver goods ordered , basically converted to online shops , web portal for each town or suburb - speed of delivery makes for feasiable usage and so very high demand by those relegated to the residential quaratine

business to business - all certified virus free
