Re: Trump or Clinton?

Whether he makes a mess of it or not, the real concern is that he was voted in based on jogoism and rabble rousing.

Ok he was noble towards clinton in his speech, but wasn't he selling the promise to his voters that clinton should be sent off to jail as a crook?? Now he is telling those same voters they should be in her debt for previous service redered.

He may have acted like a rebel cowboy, but he could settle down to be just be like every other president, which will disenfranchise his supporters..

Re: Trump or Clinton?

America in particular has suffered very badly from terror attacks

Actually no we haven't. We've only suffered around 70 domestic casualties as a result of radical islamic terrorism during the 8 years of Obama's presidency.

and one thing a lot of experts said was that Clinton is very pro military action

No, she's actually not. That's based on 1) her originally backing the war in Iraq (before information surfaced that Bushco sold it to us on faulty or bogus intelligence and outright lies) and 2) her backing of NATO's operation in Libya, which btw Donald Trump also enthusiastically supported.

She WOULD at least have kept a wary on eye on Putin's aggressive, expansionist agenda - and continued to take whatever measures short of armed conflict necessary to impede that agenda. But Trump is so cavalier about Russia that as you may have heard he's threatening to leave NATO over a niggling financial technicality he either doesn't undrestand or is hoping his supporters don't .
Other than Trump himself, probably nobody on the planet is happier today than Vladamir Putin.

the same thought crossed my mind . he could well turn out to be the very thing people thought they were voting against.. that would be kind of ironic

time will tell i guess

I think he is a filthy rich, powerful magnate who fears nobody and engages in concrete thinking to solve problems. He is used to ruling with an iron fist. But now he has the ultimate power. I suspect he genuinely wants to do things he has promised, but will be advised to tread carefully while gauging the reaction of the people. But whether he takes notice of his advisors will determine his and America's destiny IMO. I hope he makes America great again, but he could also destroy a lot more than that country.

Re: Trump or Clinton?

November 8th, 2016...........when America took a major Trump dump........ At least Oregon voted blue.

Wonder how long before he starts on "the wall"..........

To paraphrase Niemoller..........

First they came for the Muslims, and I did not speak outโ€”
Because I was not a Muslim

Then they came for the Hispanics, and I did not speak outโ€”
Because I was not Hispanic

Then they came for the Blacks, and I did not speak outโ€”
Because I was not Black

Then they came for meโ€”and there was no one left to speak for me.
