WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education ๐Ÿคฃ

pricy. Then I thought it was probably out of jelly or belly but jelly seems a more popular choice in these word games.

I found this reasonably easy although the score doesn't reflect that, mainly as I didn't bother pondering the possibilities too long, just used eliminators.

Spoiler
I solved #1 easily enough but then although I could see the pattern of a few words, the initial letter of each was a toss up . In #7, was it toast, roast, coast, boast etc
In #2 was it match, catch, batch, hatch, patch and so on.
#4, inuit or unfit

And so it went. So I used pricy for my 4th turn to put an end to that nonsense.
And further down, another eliminator, but it still didn't help with #3, bower, boxer, borer

Went for bower. It wasn't.

Yesโ€ฆ you didnโ€™t have the eliminators in early play to rule out some of those letters.

I wasnโ€™t lucky with either my starter or my eliminator - but with some element of luck (or knowing the deviousness of Wordle AKA experience and gut feeling), I guessed the answer on row 3.

My worst result for a while owes everything to the haphazardness of this Octordle. It was all over the place! Solving one word did not lead to the next; in fact, I came to a dead stop at row 6.

Even before that, I was flailing a bit.

I think so much depends on how 'lucky' the first 2 eliminators are. Some days you just get a hard run.

Even so, you did better today than I did, even though I had found the octordle flowed smoothly for me, one word to another (except for that unfortunate 3rd turn๐Ÿ˜‚).

Mind you, maybe I missed some of the other possibilities, that happens to me a lot.๐Ÿ˜

Sometimes ignorance is bliss, I guess.

I don't know how to do your target thing.
