What's for Dinner

Eats here - Cauli cheese. As a meal in a ramekin. Bit of bacon and sweetcorn thrown in for good measure.

Try it!

That sounds delish, Jess.

My grandma lived with us for a few years, she wanted dinner on the table at 5pm, buttered bread and dessert with every meal.

That was the only time we've ever really had desserts regularly.

I haven't had rhubarb and custard in years.

Yeah it's lovely having a cooked dinner every night.

My mum used to do all the cooking but I've had dinner on the table at 5pm every night for the past three years, since mum started working when I was 15. None of my friends my age know how to cook a nice dinner, so I think it's a pretty handy skill to have!

Good morning richo.  I've caught a bug so am having a break.  Like Arnie - "I will be back".

Re: What's for Dinner

Good morning dinner people xx

I use condensed milk, but I'm thinking if you whipped up the evaporated milk furiously it might work.   It wouldn't have the same density of texture though and might be a bit mushy?

Re: What's for Dinner

Evaporated milk whips up nicely if it's cold, tas.

I've made ice cream with it before, that's why I questioned it.

Also it's not as sweet as condensed milk ( or you)   big grin smiley.gif

Re: What's for Dinner

Hey Stawks,  recipe for the evaporated milk ice cream please if you have one xxx

Not sure that it would end up as heavily textured as the condensed milk one though once frozen ... maybe with a bit of gelatine or similar?

Testing the memory now, tas.     Been donkey's years since I made it.

But plenty here for ya.   Yes gelatine is required.  Some use an ice cream maker
