without a moral lawgiver [God] in a true atheistic society with all the evolutionary doctrine acceptable. if then everybody's view/point/understanding is then relative
would rape be legal?
killing off those who are a burden to society, the handicapped, blind, down syndrome be encouraged?
what about the elderly?
infanticide?
and would gays be worse off since they don't contribute to mans upward evolutionary struggle?
to who's standard would society look to?
since so many posters on here don't like God so much have you truly considered what would happen?
this one's for you bob or at least in reverse to your normal topics.

but its not based on fact most of the time tas but on faith. have a read of nasa's statements all the time. they have already decieded there is life out there and are going to find out.
that is faith not science.
science should say we don't know and we will look and see.

ha-ha really funny para-sights, ever heard of stalin or hitler try watching the history chanell for awhile and see what happens in a society without God. south Africa, china what about about Rwanda? all those hacked to death or those starving to death as we read this in north korea. ask a jew about restraint.
but you missed the point there is no morals in atheism we are pond scum eveloved to a higher order.
and who deciedes on these moral restraints in this atheistic society of yours, you? those who right on these boards? white people?
and what do you do with those who have an opposite and equally valid point of view in your atheistic society?
Nuns in Rwanda took part. religion didn't restrain or constrain them.

again bob its not to me to convince you about God but for those to consider the world without God. and the consequences of that society.

albert Einstein was an atheist until he really had a look at the then new big bang theory because he then realised that the universe had a start or a cause, so what caused the cause.
Have you actually read Einstein??? Einstein God is the wonder of the world and Universe, kind of like a Spinozza God. He was very clear to separate himself from a theistic God. He did not belief in a personal God like a bible God or Allah.
Gav. May I suggest you actually read and learn about evolution and some other science. It may open your mind a bit more.

I think there might be extra terrestrial life out there 'somewhere' too Gav, but it's not a fact until seen in reality. The universe is vast, so vast that if there are not other life forms, it would almost be a total waste.
Don't most scientists say we will wait and see? Those who don't just tread on thin ice anyway. Evidence has to be presented that is irrefutable.
Many folks believe in the Roswell crash, I don't, but that's human nature isn't it, to want to believe in different things whether they are real or not.

first I have ever heard of that Lakeland. no logic in that anyway if a nun hacked people to death they would not be a Christian.

But which God? Does a belief in a certain God make a difference to you or not? I can say a belief in certain doctrines can be more harmful than others.
Aus is a secular country, so it gives you a pretty good guide of the world without God.
Or you can just look at the scandanavian countries.

Science DOES say we don't know and we will look and see.

i was shocked by that too.

"if a nun hacked people to death they would not be a Christian"
Many christians (while swearing they are christians, saying all the right words, doing all the right things on Sundays etc) can be seen to do appalling things to innocent people. Some churches in fact, have cultures of abuse and downright unchristian behaviours, but that doesn't seem to matter to them.
