Re: has anyone bought masks?

But, when a quality mask could be had for about a dollar, I wonder how much they'll be charging for them now?

Signatures suck.

Re: has anyone bought masks?

Friend bough some from KOGAN and they arrived reasonably fast and he thinks they are fine.  I ordered some from eBay sellers located in Australia, and none of the 3 lots arrived yet, couple of weeks later:

Of course, our government will tell us the mask are not needed, if they said we all should wear them there would be a riot as people cannot get them; you think people fighting for TP is bad.....:

Re: has anyone bought masks?

What worries me - is - you put the mask on - go out.

You return - wash your hands - remove the mask - touch the mask - touch your face - removing the mask.

Wash your hands - too late you have already touched your face - think of washing your face..................

The mask could be the carrier - more so than clothing.

It seems to me that the solution is to remove the mask before you wash your hands or touch your face. But geez, how far is unnecessarily going too far? I guess it is safer to err on the side of caution tho. As mentioned by others, common sense will result in us working these puzzles out.

Re: has anyone bought masks?

No problem - I don't mind staying put.

No need for a mask at all.

Easy peasy.

Re: has anyone bought masks?

No masks for me either.

This is my 11th day of only going as far as the letterbox.

I'm fine with that.

Everything I need is on-line, and if not my daughter can get it for me.

The virus lives in the environment for only limited time.  If you wear gloves and mask to the shop, take the mask off /before you get into your car, take the cheap disposable gloves off by rolling them down from the top = they come off inside out, and place them in your rubbish bag.  You can also wipe the car door handle and steering wheel .  The cloth mask can be washed and ironed; the virus, if any left, is not going to escape and run around your house looking for you.  If you keep you benches clean, in few hours even if you dropped some virus around it will be gone.  You can wipe things like milk bottles with disinfectant, and just put the other shopping somewhere and leave it for a while before unpacking to reduce the possibility of picking up any of the virus.  The aim is to minimize exposure.  Medical friend of mine thinks that the reason so many doctors and nurses are getting really seriously ill and dying, is because they get exposed to very high concentration of the virus.

The virus can survive on hard plastic surfaces for up to three days.

The thought is also that they are getting multiple exposures and if there are different strains then they could

get multiple strains as well a bit like getting hit repeatetly.crying.gif

those who can be home 24/7 should be home 24/7

but those who must go out and about are looking at minimising the chances of bringing the virus home with us.

i dont think a mask helps, but i dont 'know' a mask doesnt help.

so i'm willing to use one, just in case i'm wrong.

and wash my hands and stay indoors as much as i can.
