This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

Gee Stawks, if you can remember the 80's, you weren't really there... Or was that the 60's...? I can never remember... ha ha.

I made a couple of ball on a string toys for the cockatoos, out of cord... They very politely ignored them, ha ha.
The easiest way around the problem, I found, was to make "Bits of wood strung on a piece of rope" toys for them...
Those toys are even better if the birds can stand on the roof, haul the toy up and then let it go so it lands on a flat surface, below, with a satisfying clatter, ha ha.

I've got a lunchbox that looks a bit like this, which I keep birdseed in...
Clear plastic body, push down to seal lid... it's pretty simple, but it does the trick, ha ha.
On the whole the birds are quite happy to bite the sides of the box in an otherwise fruitless effort to get to the birdseed inside...
All but one... ha ha.
He used his beak to lever the top open... and it didn't take him very long... ha ha...
I think the funniest thing was seeing him standing there holding the lid in his beak, before he casually threw it to one side... ha ha.
I'll have to get one of those fancy lunchboxes that have fastening clips, for the lid, on all four sides, and see how long it takes him to work that one out... ha ha.

There were a couple of birds up in the tree out the back, this evening...
Somewhere not too far off, another bird called...
One of the birds, here, answered it... "Cockatoo sound... Good bird... cockatoo sound... cockatoo sound..."...
I had to laugh... Of all the phrases that the birds might learn, and repeat... "Good bird"... ha ha...

It's hot in the workshop today...
I'm not saying it's so hot that if you put a glass of water down on the bench then it'd be boiling after a few minutes, it's not that hot...
Give it five or six minutes... ha ha.
I had another of my inspired ideas for a toy, but the simple first step - cut the basic parts out, isn't likely to happen, today... ha ha...
I could, if I were sensible, put some time into the... hmmm... I'll say at least two other part finished toys that are, going by that description, part finished and needing attention... ha ha.
No... one of them needs painting, and it's a "the paint dries on the brush almost as soon as it's on the brush", day, so that one's out...
Which leaves sanding a teddy bear's fiddly little arms and legs...
The pieces aren't big, and every time I think I've got a decent grasp on them, they slip out of my fingers... Fiddly and annoying.... ha ha.
But, ultimately, as I discovered before Christmas last, definitely worth the effort...
I tend to take them for granted... they're just bears... I make them then they sit around on a shelf for months, if not years, ha ha.
The look on her face when I gave her the bear, the way it lit up, it was priceless...
Dare I say it was like all of her Christmases had come at once, well, one, anyway.... that's enough for starters... ha ha...
