Hi guys,
I am a new seller who just want to clean out some of my unwanted items.
I have a few pair of shoes to sell, such as slipers, flats, high heels etc...
From looking at other shoes thats been listed on ebay, I noticed the postage costs from as low as $6 but I'm not too sure how this works as looking at Australia Post fees the minimum is $6.95 for under 500g, $8.95 for over 500g but in same state n $11.45 for over 500g interstate. How do sellers charge so much less for postage on items like shoes which is quite heavy in case.
Any advice please? Thanks very much ๐

Click and Send is an Australia Post service which provides proper, Paypal compliant, tracking. You have to purchase the satchels from AP ($3/20 through eBay plus the postage cost). But they provide verified postage to the buyers address. And they are cheaper than general AP satchels which don't necessarily provide real tracking.

I pretty much just sell middle of the range shoes, cost me around 8.50-9.00 to send via courier. i normally tissue paper and sometimes bag i actually must admit that i very rarely bubble wrap un less it is a costly item or an item that may get wrecked but as i sell slippers and school shoes and ladies leather flats and things i dont waist alot on packaging. i dont get many damaged returnes or anything. id go through bubble wrap like theres no tomorrow, i try and use and recycle everything

I source most of my bubble wrap from stores who are throwing it out, same with thin sheets of polystrene and packing beads although I never use anything recycled next to the item, new tissue paper layered underneath. For clothes i never re use packaging, new tissue paper, new ziplock bag and a new compliments card.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?

Go to the Australia Post website, all the CURRENT information is there. Unlike this thread from 2013................

How could anyone here have any idea how much your shoes weigh?
As Padi says....go to the Australia Post website.

I generally wrap each shoe in tissue paper, then bubble wrap and then into a zip lock bag and felt it fill with air, sort of as a cushioning I guess you could call it, and pop a thank you sticker on it, then into a satchel.
