Any Post Office workers here can illuminate? Posting parcels on Saturdays.

The mailman does not usually deliver parcels on Saturdays (or Sundays) but since the post office is open on Saturdays, is there any difference between posting an item on a Saturday and posting on the following Monday?

When I post an item on a Saturday, does anything happen to the parcels? For example, do the contracters/van drivers pick up the parcels on the same day? If this is the case, what's the supply chain process? Do they make productive use of the Saturday/Sunday (eg. parcels during the weekend go by car/plane instead of staying stationary)?

Or do my parcels sit in the basket/storage for the rest of the weekend until it gets picked up on Monday (so in this case, there is no difference between posting an item on a Saturday and a Monday)? In this case, I might as well stay home and enjoy my Saturday.

Also, do the weekend parcel activities (if any) depend on the Post Office branch?

No, you haven't.  It was PJ that posted about handing over a C&S parcel and then walking out of the PO with it after it had been scanned.  cats has not posted that she does this, nor has she posted anything in support of this scenario.

cats post was offering her ideas on the scenario presented in post #4, and in the absence of further clarification from PJ.

This is why she used the term "as presented", as PJ has not been back to provide further information at the time of cats posting.

Post #4 gave few details, and there may be some further information that sheds light on what looks like a potentially dodgy posting practice.

Thanks Sir Sales.

Cats PJ - please accept my apologies.

I did think it was a bit strange for you to do that which is why I think I was so incredulous. Again, I am really sorry for misunderstanding.

Re: Any Post Office workers here can illuminate? Posting parcels on Saturdays.

Hi,

It is very concerning to hear items are being handed back you after being scanned PJ. This certainly is not correct process and I would like to look further into this.

Once an item is scanned as posted, the correct process is for the item to stay at the post office until the mail is collected.

PJ could you please private message the best time and number to call you on to discuss this further?

Kim

Why? Surely this is something that all buyers and sellers should be aware of?

If it does happen, then it's only fair that full transparency is afforded to us, isn't it:? After all, we pay to use this service.

That you believe it ok to break the law if it is convenient?

No, I do not think it is ok to break the law.

Thank you for your apology crikey, accepted.

I remain concerned about recent posts on this and other threads that outline scenarios that hold potential to mislead others and/or  undermine buyer and seller confidence in our trading place and on-line trading.

Mmmm I would have thought generally that if someone makes some claims that may have potential legal ramifications you can't really expect AP to make further and detailed comment on such matters anywhere until investigated, including on a public discussion board IMO

But what would i know Smiley Frustrated
