Apparently, Australia Post are going to bring in some significant changes to international postage towards the end of the month but I havent seen anything in print yet. Has anyone here heard of the changes - eg Pack and Track under a new name, etc

This is another reason why Australia Post needed to give people plenty of information about the changes in advance including a detailed price list.
For the life of me, I will never understand why Australia Post do this - there is no way they can not know that many of the changes they introduce, particularly to pricing, affect their core consumers in significant ways, and that advanced notice is required to accomodate them appropriately. It comes across to me like a playground taunt, i.e.
Australia Post: We know something you don't know!
Customers: What?
Australia Post: Guess!
Customers: Bugger off, I'm not playing that stupid game, just tell me.
Australia Post: No, you have to guess, it's more fun that way.
Customers: **bleep**, fine..... You're going to increase prices by a disgusting amount?
Australia Post: Close, we are making changes to services and prices, but you have to guess what they are.
Customers: What are the new prices?
Australia Post: You're not playing right! But we'll answer your question, we're bringing in new services and stuff, and it's going to be awesome, and all the prices are changing.
Customers: That doesn't answer my question - and by changing, you mean "increasing", right?
Australia Post: Not exactly, some of the prices are going down, while other prices are going up. The average increase overall is about 2%
Customers: So.... what are the new prices?
Australia Post: Guess!
Customers: ............

Thanks for the information. That document is a rare one! You could probably sell it for big money on ebay.

It's depressing. The price of the shipping is now almost the same as my item prices. That must be psychologically damaging for sales success from a consumers' point of view.

I'd say so, since I guess it would be the only way the satchels can actually be pre-paid (they have a few limited Pack & Track pre-paids now for different zones, so I guess they'll start making them in various weight brackets / zones).
I'm guessing for most people own-packaging is going to be the better option - apparently Business 250 members still receive a discount on international standard and express services, and that's pay as you go via Click & Send.
