Buyer's child bid on item....

Hello all,

I have a situation where the buyer's child bid on an item and won the auction. The buyer has messaged that " you can raise a resolution if you wish as I do not wish for my daughter to have this "item" - pretty or not. I hope that we can resolve this like two adults and avoid any resolution action however I am prepared to stand my ground on this. " after I sent the invoice.

What are my options? On one hand, I sympathize with the buyer's situation where the child inappropriately bidded. On the other hand, I am irked by the fact that there is an irresponsible ebayer who has let the child access the ebay account and has made no apology for it.

I am also a newcomer to ebay and hence feedback would be important to me.Is this buyer able to leave negative feedback is things do not progress their way? What are my rights?

Thank you

The path of least resistence...

Cancel the sale...relist ..... move on...

No point whatsoever in getting involved in a dispute while you still have the item...

All for an easy life.

What joz said.

I doubt the Op is agonising over it after all these years. And I hope they have managed to sell the item in that time, so they probably don't still have the item.

Honestly it's not worth all the hassle and frustration.  I understand how you feel though.  Just let it go.  You can get a second chance offer if there was another bidder otherwise just relist it and forget about it ever happen.  Oh look at her feedback if its a bit dodgy, just block her from ever bidding from you again.  I block people from not being able to bid if they never pay me when they have won an item.  One strike and your out, cant be trusted again.

Re: Buyer's child bid on item....

I had a person message me asking if I could cancel something they'd purchased off me because they were ill.

Sent me about 20 lines of info telling me their story.

Thinking, what they purchased, suddenly fell ill and were able to write 20 lines to me.

Checked and they hadn't even purchased off me.

Yes, they must be very ill.

Re: Buyer's child bid on item....

It sounds to me as if they are very confused....maybe they really are ill.

If they have not bought from you why would you feel the need to come here to make fun of them....it is no skin off your nose.

No lyndal, they obviously brought off someone else and changed their mind, that was my point, I don't make fun of anyone, just stating the obvious with the people who make all the excuses in the book.

No skin off my nose or yours for that matter.
