An increasing annoyance of mine is buyers who just cant be bothered leaving any feedback
Out of my last 20 sales i only have 10 of them who have left me feedback (2 of them are recent sales) and 8 people are yet to leave any feedback and its been weeks.
Feedback is important as i know my item has arrived safely, plus im trying to build up my business and i want positive feedback to hopefully generate more customers.
My policy on selling is simple. I use good customer service. I always contact the buyer and thank them for their purchase and quick payment (if they paid instantly). I always let them know when i will be posting their item. I always leave positive feedback once they have made their payment and mark item posted as soon as i post it. I even contact the customer to let them know that i have sent it, Good friendly and professional customer service is not hard.
Some of by customers really appreciate it and let me know. Others just dont care, i never hear from them and they dont bother to leave any feedback.
Does this happen alot to other sellers? what strategies do you have to aid in helping. I have sent a few friendly reminders about people "forgetting to leave me feedback". The odd time it works but most of the time it doesnt.

I started a new store from scratch around eight months ago to complement my existing store. Like all newbie store owners I stressed about the low feedback score and how it would affect sales. It only took a feedback score of around 20 before buyer resistance dropped and I started to get International sales and sales of high value items. After three months and a feedback score of around fourty, the new store actually passed the old fully established store in sales for a week. ( to my complete suprise ). With a feedback score of 80-100 the new store was giving the established business a real run on a monthly sales basis. This has been a fascinating excercise and shows you dont need a lot of feedback numbers to sell as much as long established businesses with high feedback scores.

I've felt 'ripped off' from buyers a couple of times. And I dont charge postage. Im not a huge business selling mass product. I sell my hobby, which is all handmade. So, yes know how you feel

Congratulations you've bumped a 5 1/2 YEAR OLD thread to have a whinge...................
P.S. Don't bother blocking me I wouldn't buy from you with that attitude anyway.

Do you realise you're replying to a post from over six years ago?
You have some very strange opinions, and have expressed them in a rambling way. I'm not sure what a seller's sexuality has to do with anything at all here, but hand-on-my-heart I am grateful to you for posting here and making me aware of your existence.
Edit: G'day, Padi. Beat me to it.

Given that about 30% of buyers leave feedback, you are shooting yourself in the foot.
A question, however. Do you sell for money or feedback? If the latter, you have serious issues.

Sorry Dave, but I'll have to disagree with you on this one. If only 30% of buyers leave feedback, then it's more like they're shooting themselves in both feet and breaking four fingers on one hand.

I block all buyers who don’t leave me feedback, I give them 2 months to leave it, and if after that they still haven’t left me feedback, I block them. I Currently have 2 Ebay accounts. I have never once received negative feedback except for 1 time when I received a neutral because an Australia Post outlet in Queensland were committing fraud and charging my customers for extra postage even though I had already paid for $8.95 postage with tracking number from my end.
I have never in 3 years received a negative. My old account was Cornflakegirl11. Check my feedback. I send extra gifts to my customers on top of what they have purchased, a lot of times I pay $11.95 for express postage which they do not pay for. Obviously I go above and beyond for my customers. If they receive a fantastic deal with free, ‘new’ gifts, and free express postage And they do not leave me feedback, then they get blocked. They soon learn their lesson as I will list DVDs 3 times less than every other seller and they will find that they are blocked when they try to buy from me again.
They will so badly want to buy from me that they will create another account to try and get around the block and buy from me again but I always remember them, their names and addresses and will report them to Ebay and refuse to sell to them or cancel the sale if they get through my block.
Stupid buyers don’t realise that sellers have the power to block them from receiving a great deal if they just take take take and never acknowledge or say Thankyou. The buyers who leave feedback can buy from me again, it’s that simple. What seller wants to sell to an Ebay customer who doesn’t leave feedback? None of us really unless we are huge and couldn’t care less about feedback.
I also have Ebay sellers buying from me too who don’t leave feedback but expect their buyers to leave them feedback. (Idiots!) they get blocked too and it drives them crazy but they deserve it for being hypocrites. I learnt to block buyers who don’t leave feedback from a homosexual seller in Melbourne who blocked me for not leaving him feedback, it’s actually really liberating. Y’all should try it.

I understand it must be a bit of a let down when you add extras to a package plus pay postage rates over and above what you charge your customers & get no message or thank you. It isn't that hard to leave feedback either.
But the way I see it, what you are doing is you are actually blocking customers who have paid & given you no trouble in any other way.
They haven't tried to cheat you, they haven't opened claims for refunds, all they have done is pay over their cash and disappear. It's always nice to get positive feedback but a lot of people don't bother these days, that is just the way it is so no use upetting yourself about it.
I think you're cutting off your nose to spite your face, to be honest, and I have a better suggestion.
By all means keep a notebook of names of those who bought and never left feedback. But don't block them. If they do buy again though, hold back on the freebies-no extra gift for them! And only send via the postage cost they have actually paid for.
repeat customers who have given feedback before-save the rewards for them.

The entire concept of over-servicing customers—presumably to encourage repeat business from them—but blocking those who don't express gratitude through feedback, is one of the most cognitively dissonant things I've encountered on these forums.
It seems to me to be symptomatic of this social-media saturated era where people need affirmation through likes, upvotes, and positive comments.
Now, give me a kudo or I'll block you!
