Joe, I have noticed the 'ala' quite a few times.
Are you Maltese by any chance? And judging by some of the questions
you dig your heels in over - from Gozo?

I have two separate businesses that I want to keep records for, both are registered businesses and eBay is aware that one person runs both accounts. There probably are some dodgy people running multiple accounts but multiple IDs don't automatically mean you are doing something wrong.

You did not answer Joe's question, but I am interested too, is it possible to perform shill bidding from different IDS owned by the same person?

I have blocked many posters over the years - not that any would would seek to buy from me, but just in case I do not wish to trade with some due to malicious advice or comments their posting id has made or their own reported (unfair) practices as a buyer or seller, as well as a smaller group of posting IDs that simply seek to troll, mock and bully for their own amusement.
Nonetheless, i enjoy reading a variety of opinions and debate about trading issues where posters are genuinely engaging with and interested in the topic of a thread.

If one id regularly bids on auctions from another it can be tracked. so you might be able to do it once or twice, but if it became regular conduct it would stand out as schill bidding. The same can happen if folks do it as favours to each other. I doubt any regular sellers would do i, but I am pretty sure casual sellers get family and friends to do it. At the end of the day it ends up not selling if they try to push it up higjer than someone is willing to pay. Ebay auctions for several reasons are not like real life auctions. just hidden tenders and these schill bids are really just the same as auctioneers bidding on behalf of vendors to push up to a reserve. Its common knowledge that when bidding on property you are ogften bidding against the 'trees" to start with.
All these multiple ids also allow Ebay to inflate their quoted membership claims. Along with all the dead no longer active ids.
ASSUMPTION IS THE MOTHER OF ALL STUFF UPS!!

Yes, it is possible but if ebay finds out you will probably be banned from ebay permanently.
You cannot bid on your own items with the ID that they are listed on....it is not possible.
