I can't list a Playboy magazine. Double standards.
To me, it just needs to be listed in an adults only category, I have no problem with that. It's just a crazy system and the rules & monitoring & policing of those rules is all over the place. All they need is either a Category for Adults Only or Adults Only sub categories Eg, in Books & Magazines & for Chameleonโs match boxes a sub category in Collectables. (But the matchboxes is a joke - well not literally, I just couldn't believe they won't allow them when they allow so much other stuff)
Truth is, I donโt go looking for such items, so there may be categories already, I donโt know, lol.
Seriously, they allow sex toys etc which I would consider far more offensive to many people than anything we've discussed here (and certainly not to be seen by children) โ you only have to go to B&M stores to see how they are laid out โ eBay need be no different. The products in B&M adults only stores are very well out of view of children and the Gift type stores and Newsagents etc keep the adult merchandise separate. I donโt see why it canโt be the same here.
eBay is so hell bent lately on items being in the correct Categories, where so often they get it wrong anyway over innocent stuff, yet they let this kind of stuff appear almost anywhere โ thatโs my main issue.

The listing in the wrong category thing is a joke. I was looking at Ammonite fossils yesterday on eBay and one seller in particular, when I searched their listings just for that name, I got some ridiculous amount of results. I'd say only 20% of the search results saw the actual Ammonites, the rest were things like quartz, labradorite, jewellery, clothing etc. When I clicked on one those items to see what was going on, they were all listed under the Ammonite category. Funny how their listings don't get canned and a stern warning from eBay about listing in the wrong category. Ammonites are listed under fossils and none of the other ones even remotely resembled a fossil!
In regards to the Playboy mags, there are listings on eBay Australia for them as I just did a search to check. Maybe they do allow them? Then again, maybe the sellers just haven't been caught yet!

And then you have these type of listings that are alowed to flourish as they are listed by one of their
protected scammers.
Not allowed
Listings for sexual wellness products which contain adult or sexually-oriented images or descriptions are not allowed.
At our discretion we may remove sexually- or adult-themed items including, but not limited to:
Adult-orientated domain names
Anatomically-accurate sex dolls
Items not already mentioned in this policy which, because of their nature or because of the item description, appear to be designed for use in sexual/adult activity
Netsuke (miniature Japanese sculpture) that contains nudity or explicit sexual content
Nude playing cards or trading cards
Sex toys
Note: it's at their discretion which basically means they don't care if it breaches policy as they are
making money from them so they'll stay.

Listed Under : Health & Beauty - Massage - Other ???????? That is pathetic !!! eBay it is a disgrace you allow it so openly !!!!!!!!
If that can be allowed AT YOUR DISCRETION how about you back off the innocent incorrect category listings !!!
Hope you Mods are reading these posts and pass it on !!!!!!!!!!
Again, I've accidentally come across similar items - I don't think you should be able to 'accidentally' come across it . . . . . . .
Really, why not in an Adults Only Category ???
It's not even the subject matter so much that is infuriating me at the moment, it's the absolute lack of consistency and fairness !!!!

Well I'll be dipped in sheep poo. I looked, I squirmed, I closed one eye and then I thought, let's see what happens. SOOOOO, I sat there for the next 10 minutes and reported the 'offending' listings. If they are protected, the listings will stay, right? They're all gone! All but 1 of the ones I reported have gone. Last night there were 56 listings. This morning, there are 27.
I guess it comes down to the listings being reported. There are millions upon millions of items for sale on eBay, it would be impossible to keep tabs on everyone.
If you encounter any more of these adult related items that aren't supposed to be on here, post the link. I am in my first week of 4 weeks long service, so have plenty of time on my hands to send reports in. Saves having to do boring stuff like housework!
I know, I know, I'm probably a horrible person for reporting the listings, but when others on here are having listings removed for the most pathetic reasons, I'm happy to exact revenge on their behalf.

About to embark on another reporting binge. Lets see how many of these ones get removed! Currently 39 listings of various things.
