I have spoken to Australia Post this morning AGAIN, and they say it SHOULD be working by this afternoon.
This is appalling service when we charge buyers the lower rate for postage instead of hiking the price up. Now they want us to go and buy the satchels at $1+ each extra. Adds up when there are 50 parcels to post!!
Also buyers who dont receive their items in good time are NOT happy buyers. Does AP have any idea how much this affects so many sellers?? Before it went down it was calculating the international postage incorrectly.. did anyone else notice that? When you get the items to the Post Office the price to post was at least $2 more!!

Just to add to this ridiculous situation, when attempt to contact Australia Post through the 'contact us' on the Click & Send website you get an error message! Ha! How can we have any faith in this system???

I spoke to a representative of AP yesterday afternoon - nice lass - who after the first tusssle as she tried to adhere to AP policy (do they have one?) stated there was no date when this problem could be fixed - but they were working on it and hoped 'sometime in the future' it coud be fixed. I believe AP is committing fraud by selling us click and send satchels, then denying us the right to use them. I did ask if I could return the satchels for a refund as they could no longer be used but was told there was no information on this subject. Us ebayers have been 'conned' by Australian Post.

Trying to send my parcels since yesterday night and now getting this updated message on their epic fail site
'Updated at 11am Friday -
Our Click & Send service has been temporarily suspended to address some data issues within the system.
The service is expected to be unavailable for the remainder of the day as we work to rectify these issues. A further update will be provided later today to keep customers informed.'
Seriously, can't they invest in better IT system?? They need 2 days to rectify IT issues? we as buyers of these 'now useless' satchels should be compensated, not to mention they recently raised the postage price! X-(

I have had to email buyers waiting on their items and provided a link to click and send website so they know whats going on.

If you take their crap advise and go to Aus Post Shop you will pay extra, $6.60 for a 500g satchel io $6.20 and it does NOT including tracking, I had to fork out an additional $1.55 for tracking. RIPOFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't blame Click and Send for it.. What would you prefer that they took it down so no ones details got accessed or leave it up so that someone can hack your details?
Even the best IT security can't always stop hacking..Remember the Sony incident?
They don't necessarily mean that they knew of a flaw. they just didn't suspect that your average Joe would have been able to find one..

This problem was first identified publicly a month ago patch. I don't think it unreasonable to expect them to have fixed it by now. As their site has been down for effectively 2 working days, reimbursement for those who have had to use more expensive, inferior services is not unreasonable.
Luckily, I only have one to send and I can get away with Monday and still be within my handling time.

Patch...
'suspect' may not be the correct term.
Four weeks ago it was revealed that the company did not believe people were smart enough to discover a flaw on its Click & Send service that was putting customers' privacy at risk.
