DAMAGE CONTROL...measures taken to offset or minimize damage to reputation, credibility, or public image caused by a controversial act, remark, or revelation.
What steps can we take now to minimize the damage to our lively hood, business, reputations which is in evidently going to occur from eBays polluted defect system.
1/Do we wait till the ship has sunk and try to raise it....Are you like the TITANIC..cant be raised?
2/Do we stop building up our stock , waiting for the inevitable to happen.
3/Or do we just become Doris Days and say
Que Sera, Sera ???

Lou, hate to say it, and I'm not an expert, but am sure I've read somewhere, that once you are suspended permanently you CANNOT be re-instated, unless of course you are a slime bag (refer other thread) Seems to work for them, but maybe they are only getting set time suspensions, (like a week or 30 days) heaven only knows why that would be though.
I repeat again, there should be Warnings before Suspensions, as there are in any other workplace and Suspension should not be an Automatic occurrence. Please don't anyone tell me eBay is too big to assess each case individually - If there was a warning system in place, then sure, if it is an habitual offender, committing the same violations each time, suspend them, I'm fine with that & that will probably account for the majority anyway, (you all know the ones I mean) other than the repeat offenders, for the first timers I'm sure there are not really that many situations that would truly warrant Instant Permanent Suspension. What ever happened to 'Innocent until Proven Guilty' ? At the very least, give Sellers an opportunity to explain (to someone with at least half a brain !) and correct their mistake before they are suspended.

I had both accounts suspended when they pushed my button back in May....
I had one account suspended for a week around 12 months ago. My other accounts which are in different names where untouched BUT the suspended account was originally set up under a different IP address ( before we moved house ) . Ebay terms state clearly that ALL accounts listed under the one IP address under different names can be suspended at ebays discretion. They also state clearly that it is breaching their rules to use another account to circumvent account suspension.
In answer to your OP I am trying to run my stocks down, but it is difficult as the country is awash with stock at the moment. My storage shed seems to be filling up not emptying. I am no longer following up leads that I would have jumped on twelve months ago and are just watching bulk lots of stock pass me by as I try to reduce my inventory. Ebays current direction is worrying me greatly as my young family still rely on ebay for the bulk of our income. I started my ebay business due to health problems which mean I cant return to my previous occupation and being over 50 my employment options are very limited.
The sad part is my ebay business is still going well and turning good numbers, even in the current difficult trading enviroment.

in regards to your IP address, what happens if your using for instance your work computer, and they shut down all the accounts that have been connected to the work ip address....
(i have no idea about IP addresses)
or theres more than one person living at the house/ ip address and you have different accounts?

There are a range of things that sellers can do(and most would likely do already) to mitigate the risks created through a DEFECTIVE Defect System.
Improved stock control, improved and increased quality check, providing exceptional customer service etc etc
Beyond regularly partaking in a nice glass of red and/or one of Narelles valium to numb emotions and/or finding a private space to scream, I have no clue as to how to counter increased episodes of hysteria, bouts of weeping or feelings of hopelessness that are linked to the DEFECTIVE Defect System

CS told me some time ago, they don't care if there is more than one person living at the address (for instance in our househld apart from myself, hubby and my daughter both have their own ID's and operate completely separately). If I was to be issued a suspension and tried to use one of the other accounts, they would shut them all down, no questions asked and no way it would be reversed.
So, the point raised about work computers is very interesting . . . . .
I don't understand much about it either, I call myself a computer dummy, but I was wondering, if it would work if you set up an account via a mobile phone if that would be traceable in the same or similar way ?? I wouldn't think so, but as I said, I'm a dummy, lol

I have no idea about it either....
But how would they know if you used someone elses account? or they just suspend everyone at once.... Good point about a mobile... Or even worse, what happens if you are hijacking your neighbours wifi? and they get cut off... LOL
