Hi everyone,
i sold a girl's dress in December. Item was posted a day after payment received. Posted in an Aust post pre paid satchel with tracking. I returned from holiday early January and found the package on my doorstep with "return to sender" on it. I emailed the buyer to ask if the address was correct. She said it was and told me no cards were left to advise to pick up at PO. I then called Aust post to enquire as to why the package was returned. With the tracking number, Aust post told me that postman had made two attempted deliveries and left cards both times. The package was hel;d at the delivery centre for two weeks before being sent back to me.
I contacted the buyer with this information. She has responded by saying that no cards were left, delivery is very unrealiable in her area and I need to get into contact with Aust Post again. She made it very clear that she will not pay anything more on this transaction
What are my options here?
I certainly don't want to pay postage again (for financial reasons as well as risk that it will be returned again).
Any ideas?
Thanks!

that is true kustom, but when I'm expecting a parcel from a seller and it's about due/ overdue .. that's the first place I look, and see
awaiting collection at Post Office
I then toodle down there and collect it.
easy peasy

Right on Putney, but a fair few buyers never think (or know) to do this and would rather leave a neg for the poor ol' seller without making contact.

yes, that what I do, and on couple of occasion the PO staff flatly refused to look, on other occasions they did look but were very clear that I am wasting their valuable time, and disappeared in the back room for about 3 seconds; definitely not enough time to have a good look if the item is maybe put in wrong place. Also, not everybody has the time to toodle, and I would not trust the staff to look if I call.
Basicaly, i was told that if parcel did not get carded it is not drama as they will send me another one if the parcel is sitting there for a week. I wish I could like to say that made me confident ๐

definitely DO NOT try to re-send it without getting authorisation from the AP. If you do it will most likely come straight back.

Gosh, my PO staff are nothing like that, in fact they often have my parcel on the counter by the time I have come through the door and before I have got home and found the card.

in that case I would stand my ground and phone Click and Send from there and insist they instruct the PO staff to hand over the item as per the Tracking
but like pj I have a great LPO, been using it for 19 years now.... onto the 5th or 6th set of Owners, but all have been well trained by me, and all have been great, giving service above and beyond. Lucky me eh?

That's ok if you know you haven't been carded after an attempted delivery, but in my case the tracking was showing that it was awaiting collection at the PO at 8am. I checked the tracking at 2pm and no attempt of delivery was made as I was home all day. The package apparently hadn't even made it onto the truck

I had a registered parcel go missing once (as the seller), for about two weeks. After numerous inquiries, to assist my buyer, it turned out to have been IN THE VAN for most of that time, 'hidden' in a corner.
