These changes will not be in the sellers interest.
They will solely be in EBAYs interest only.
Expect higher fees

10% GST is charged on top of the normal fees but if you're a business seller and provide your ABN you can get an exemption

TOTALLY agree! The fees have skyrocketed over recent yrs & now we will have this 'not deprimental' p'ment system for the greater good?? .. yep, a farce.
EB used to be for auctions .. for the 'general' seller to have a non newspaper platform/outlet from which to sell. It was great back then!
Then we've have all the major retailers join over the years with all the very large EB sellers with 'shops' .. and in there somewhere came the major rip-off merchants who have 'shops' or outlets here in Australia but the goods are sent with massive handling times from o/s!
Have a problem with an item from them & all of a sudden the seller is either not registered anymore (probably re-registered as some one else) OR they've removed all their items for sale & you can't get a refund or anything. All EB says to you is 'we're sorry' & no visible action ever is seen. The same when a Buyer tries to scam you .. thank goodness for tracking now!
We've all been thru these situations .. WHY isn't EB doing something constructive about those shonky sellers & buyers & the problems they cause? They'll find some way around this, that's for sure. I'm not even going to mention the sellers that sell PHOTO-SHOPPED items with impossible colours in the plants & seeds catagories!

Why can't you get a refund if the seller is deregistered or has disappeared?
If you used a safe payment method such as paypal you can easily open a dispute and get a refund if you take action within the allowed timeframe.
Learn how ebay works before complaining.

Like, for example, making people get through an ID check before they can sell? As opposed to PayPal who typically wouldn't do that untill the account had processed around $10k.
Or making it impossible for those who hijack accounts to get anything out of it? (Not only by significantly reducing the ability to list anything, but also if the account is on managed payments already, a bank account change needs verification, so even if they manage to list something worth more than $10, the money can't go anywhere except to the original account holder).
Managed payments isn't going to solve all the problems with dodgy sellers, but it's going to solve a few of them, at least. Won't do much with regards to dodgy buyers, though.

Done all that .. I've been a seller for yrs (another page). I've had a few disputes with both PP & EB about this .. even had a seller refund me in an o/s currency with the figure it should have been in AU$ which was much more .. took weeks to get both of them to see what I could see in my a/c & the mistake .. finally got my full refund, but the work needed to get it .. what a joke! BTW I ONLY pay via PP all the time. It depends on the PP or EB personell you get. Oh, and I only phone them because the help tabs n chat are useless.

It amounts to greed by Ebay,as if they werent making enough on fees already
on โ20-04-2021 07:38 PM
Getting too greedy will be at Ebays detriment

So, can we assume you are selling at cost?
That you make no profit whatsoever?
Thought so.

If eBay's deal with Adyen is less than Paypal, then yes.
If not, probably revenue neutral.
Either way, from my actual experience, total fees are in line with total fees before MP. As a seller, it makes no difference to me.
If you have different experiences, please share.
If, in fact, you are on MP and are not just chucking conspiracy theories into the mix.
