Drop in sales - has anyone else noticed a BIG drop WC 8th October 18?

Hi Guys

Something appears to have changed this week? It may possibly be related to the recent software changes on the eBay seller platform - but I have had a HUGE drop in sales since Monday 8th October 18?

2 x eBay reps have told me that my account is good - no restrictions, etc? I mostly offer Free Express Shipping and am now moving to Same-day Handling. No-one has been able to offer an explanation?

I have been selling for 15 years this December and NEVER had it this bad? Has anyone else noticed this with their store?

eBay only has so much control - they might reign over the site's traffic, but you can still drive traffic yourself via social media and the like. Some may get diverged via third-party ads or other sellers items, which sucks, but sellers don't have to be at the absolute mercy of ebay (at least when it come to traffic).

Excellent news - after my 2x contact with eBay CS, I too have had a dramatic boost in sales, compared to when I made the OP. 🙂

Great news. There is definatly some glitches going on at the moment. I,m afraid if sellers just sit back & wait for things to come good, they may not get the problems fixed at all. I suspect CS is flat out fixing accounts for those who take the time to complain without worrying about those who say nothing.

My tale.....

One week just recently, things started to go a bit weird? Sales dropped, mysterious at this time of year when BBQ stuff starts to really "fire up"? I complained to eBay CS - got one muppet, who was about as good as a hip pocket on a singlet - then someone who really knew their stuff - and presto - sales bounced back to normal - briefly?

Now - and it's too early to tell for certain, I seem to be BACK in the "dead zone"? Friday 19 Oct and Friday night, Saturday am, seem to be dead once again?

We sellers need to make a stand, and - NOT let eBay knacker itself and kill us all!! After all, sellers ARE eBay - without us, there's nothing to sell, no $$ for them or for us?

I made a single post to this effect on the = selling platform the other day - but it was mysteriously taken down? Now I wonder if this one will make it?

Might not make it as buyers are ebay's bread and butter not sellers.

Without buyers you won't sell anything even if you have something to sell.

I learn't this lesson from the horse's ass mouth lol.

Yeah, but without items to sell (visible to buyers), they will not/cannot buy?

That's my point if you have items to sell and no buyers come along to buy then it's pointless.

That's is why ebay don't give a toss about sellers as there will always be sellers but there won't always be buyers as this thread entails.

Sellers are complaining about slow sales because the buyers aren't there,it's the buyers that end up helping ebay get their fees by buying,a seller is just a smear/speck that allows it to happen lol.
