Just received eBay's latest assistance to sellers *Ebay's NEW HEALTH CHECK* .
This may be old news but they are moving timed BUY IT NOW and will move all my listings to GOOD TIL CANCELLED. Well that is not what I want but then again we have no say.
This does not suit me for many reasons with something new I like to use 10 days as an option. The rest are 30 day listings which gives me the option to adjust the listings if they are not attracting buyers or watches. I will sometimes group them with other items etc.
I find the 30 day listings far more manageable for my business needs.
So if all fixed listings are good til cancelled I dare say the next step will be for those with ebay stores will be reduced with the amount of fixed listings in their subscription.
Good til cancelled also means there will be a hell of a lot of old stock on there for years or if I remember correctly they were bringing in limited time for listings.
I have had my vent but OH SO FRUSTRATING makes me wonder why I am doing this.

I got the 13 insertion charges on my account credited... They did it immediately. I think they know they are in the wrong. I will now have to list all my items and then end them each month before listing again. What a hassle.

Yes I learned the hard way as well - I thought "good till cancelled" means good till cancelled - not sneakily rolling over every month at a charge of $ 1.65 per listing.
I listed a few items (being way below my 40 free listings per month) and suddenly got charged $ 1.65.
When I checked my 40 free listings, I had 0 left - huh ???
I contacted E-Bay why I suddenly had 0 listings left and got the spiel about the "good till cancelled" roll over money grab !!
You have to keep track of your listings manually and cancel the overflow of your 40 free listings every month - a disaster looking for a place to happen !!!
Happy E-Baying !!!

Yes it's tantamount to fraud.

It makes ( very dubious) sense now too that a few times in recent past I got offers for 100 free listings at no charge.
Luckily I never took up any of the offers or I would have been in a nice pickle now !!
Imagine 100 or 200 gtc listings rolling over every month @ $ 1.65 & that is not even taking into consideration the listing I already have here on E-Bay rolling over just the same and immediately chewing up the 40 free listings each month, so other than a major money grab for E-Bay - what is supposed to be in it for me ??????

If you manage your listings it shouldn't be a problem. I realise 60 listing to manage is a lot of work, but the alternative is to pay insertion fees for 20 of them a month.

It's not that simple Dave, I've listed items in dribs and drabs and as a result I now have to check my listings every day what day/time they are going to roll over.....
Had I known this was coming I would have always listed everything on the same day, so (unless sold) it would roll over on the same day a month later.
With good til cancelled it also doesn't show in "my E-Bay", what day it's going to roll over. You have to open the actual listing to see that info, so a lot of extra work and fiddling around and this will be ongoing unless I remove all my listings and start again on a favorable date !

You can see the dates if you can get into Seller Hub - Active listings - customise the columns

My 'my eBay' is sorted by ending soonest. Today's ones are at the top of the list, and the header tells me how many there are. I have 1800 listings in my store and I manage with very little effort.

We've always sorted by ending soonest, both in my eBay and seller hub.
It makes sense to us to do it that way as it has been the easiest way to manage our listings, even before GTC.
