Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with Ebays double standards atm..I tried selling a set of wheels which are For a Ford modle XA,XB,XC,XD, XE and was told by Ebay that i cannot advertise the modle of the cars they are suited to in my heading as it violates there policy..yet when i look at 90% of other listings they all do this..Ebay cancelled my listing and sent me a violation notice because i advertised my item correctly..Is anyone else experiencing this outrageous action from Ebay??

No, they're circumventing the multiple items listing policy, AND keyword spamming, as the item in question suits absolutely no specific vehicle, any more than a smelly tree that hangs on the mirror does.

Bit like if I type in a search "Ford Falcon" to browse Falcon parts, and the top listings came up:
"Falcon XK fragrance tree, pine"
"Falcon XL fragrance tree, pine"
"Falcon XM fragrance tree, pine".....
and so on up to FG
Then start again with the whole list of 20 models in each flavour.

Refine your search to what you want.
If I wanted a mirror or some wheels I would put those words in a search. But that's just me.

Keyword spamming occurs when members place brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description for the purpose of gaining attention or diverting members to a listing.
Not permitted:
Separate fixed price listings for identical generic or universal itemsโsuch as AA batteries, generic lens caps, generic cases, and cablesโlisted as being compatible with certain products

Thankyou for your comments and yes this isnt spaming at all as the advertised models are exactly what these wheels are made to fit...What i find amusing is that Ebay instruct you to be as descriptive as posible and list the models that your item fit then tell you you cant as its spamming...doomed if you do and doomed if you dont???...how the hell do you sell this item if you can advertise what its made for and even if you do then you are at fault for not being descriptive if they are not what the purchaser wants.....whats even more frustrating is that every person you deal with at ebay tells you something different which contradicts the other so even they dont know thier own rules???..My opinion and thoughts are starting to lean towards start selling from a different site that actually knows what they are doing and dont have contradicting rules and policies and staff that have appropriate knowledge of thier own rules...Ebay should be ashamed of this!!

The wheels im selling fit various model Fords so i listed these models in my heading as this is exactly what these wheels are made for..if i dont list what model they fit then buyers wont find them in search results hence i wont sell them. Not all wheels fit all Fords so im actually giving a truefull and descriptive title

Be that as it may, if you don't change your title before relisting you court account restriction. The title is really only for searchers and casual browsers.
Like I said, I doubt too many potential buyers would be searching for wheels by specific model.

Are they Ford brand and if not are you listing them under the Ford category?
If so that is your problem, it is the fact you are using the word Ford instead of the actual brand of tyre.

It doesn't make sense except for one main thing eBay seems to act on,(someone has reported your listing),X-(
Which generally means they are selling the same or similar items themselves.
The other sellers are using the same listing style as this search for ford xa xb xc shows:
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3984.m570.l1311.R1&_nkw=ford+xa+xb+xc&_sacat=0&_from=R40
It shouldn't matter which manufacturer they are from as long as they are listed in the correct category: Vehicle Parts & Accessories >Car, Truck Parts >Wheels, Tyres > Wheels
Maybe ask eBay how they want all the other 1500 plus listings reported that violate the same criteria under which you listed,?:|
At the same time maybe try explaining to them that's the way Aussies search for those particular type of wheels.
Good luck with it.

Hi go tazz...thankyou for your post..I have tried explaining both over the phone and through messages to the Ebay team yet i get different replies that all contradict each other...I have come to the realisation that ebay is staffed by unqualified unexperienced foriegners who really have no idear what they are doing and dont know thier own rules and policies..I also supplied a list of 20 listings similar to mine which i found after searching for 1 minute and looking at half a page!! to them and suprise suprise i didnt get a reply...They will kill thier own site the way they run!!!
