Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with Ebays double standards atm..I tried selling a set of wheels which are For a Ford modle XA,XB,XC,XD, XE and was told by Ebay that i cannot advertise the modle of the cars they are suited to in my heading as it violates there policy..yet when i look at 90% of other listings they all do this..Ebay cancelled my listing and sent me a violation notice because i advertised my item correctly..Is anyone else experiencing this outrageous action from Ebay??

Hello Phorum junkie..I listed them under wheels and tyres packages..In my heading i put the make of the wheels,(CSA) the make the wheels fit (Ford) and the models (XA,XB,XC,XD,XE) thats it..Clear concice and honest..And this is classified as spamming and warrants a penalty on my account and a withdrawal by Ebay..This is why im so annoyed...If you check yourself thier are thousands upon thousands of other listings identicle to mine yet they cancle mine???

Re: Ebay cancelling your listing

The problem with creating a listing for each and every model/brand that an item suits is that it makes stock control very difficult.

PLUS it breaks up the sales history which impacts on eBay search position.

For years eBay told us that we had to reduce our number of listings ... now they punish us for doing exactly what they asked.

This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed as there is no clear answer.  When I search the help files the information there contradicts the messages people are getting when their listings are removed.

Re: Ebay cancelling your listing

I'm not much of a seller anymore but still very interested in reading these forums.

I have noticed that ebay is becoming more and more unwieldy to the point where they are really way out of line re Australian laws and regulations.

Australian sellers are paying good money in fees yet we are being treated like fools and no one seems to want to stand up and take responsibility for the 4 or 5 different versions of advice from ebay staff.

It varies so much that even the time of day you seek help will affect of the quality of the reply.

Both the reporting of listings and also posts here are out of control because there is no rhyme or reason to their emails.

The only good change they have made is to stop using stupid names to sign their moderators emails.

When your inbox has 10 emails from Shaggy you really do wonder about them but now they have no name then it doubles the IQ of the moderator replying  but unfortunately it still doesn't hit double figures.

I wonder what happened to good ole Shaggy? Was he too Boombastic?

Anyway back on track, ebay are fast losing their "reputation" as the place to sell your "$1500" of goods lying around the house and that seems to be what they wanted but in sweeping out those sellers they are also turning off those very sellers from becoming buyers.

As for ebay expecting us to report all the listing violations, well what is the point if they don't do anything about them.

There has been a seller reported numerous times for selling costume jewellery in the fine jewellery but ebay don't take any action but if you mention that they are breaching listing policies ebay send you an email saying that the boards are not the place to report those breaching policies and that we should report them in the proper way.

Well, hello ebay what the hell do you think we have been doing?

Then some poor blighter wants to sell some tyres and is just one of about 1500 listings but their listing is removed and they have a violation against their account.

If you use the Buy It Now with Best Offer option and put in your description that you will consider any offers you get in trouble for saying you will consider all offers, well wtf do ebay have Best Offer for, oh, thats right it is a crafty way of whacking sellers with violations because the ebay staff don't know that best offer is actually an ebay listing feature and the poor sellers actually pay for the privilege of using it.

If I pay for BIN with Best Offer then I will tell prospective buyers in the description section that they can make an offer if they think my BIN is too high. (well i would if i could).

And why don't ebay buy a couple of phones through ebay so that their trust and safety team will actually have a phone or two in the room so when a ebayer can't make the call centre operator understand why the ruling is ridiculous we at least will be able to sit on hold for a couple of hours kidding ourselves that someone will actually understand the problem and then actually do something about it.

Lucky I am in a good mood because I might say what I really think of ebay. :^O

Oh look ^^^ a smilie so my post can't be reported because obviously everything has been said in jest.

I totally agree and believe Ebay have simply lost the plot...Its fall from grace is its own fault and if it continues to treat its loyal customers in this manner its only a matter of time until it creates waves it cant handle...You may take ammusement in the fact that ive just got home to find an email from Ebay stateing my description section on my seller dashboard is now below acceptable levels and i need to be more descriptive in what im selling in my listing...Is this site for real????...if i take thier advice im spamming and get another violation and if i dont im not descriptive enough and get selling restrictions...i may aswell run head first into a brick wall...

Either way im going to break a policy so what the hell does one do....does anyone know of any other great selling sites that has normal sane people running them as im ready to take my business elsewhere!!!
