Re: Free 3 relisting gone... Must use business policy.

I have just had three very frustrating sessions with Live Chat. (Please note that these sessions were carried out with my other ID, which has a much much lower sales record). Here are the transcripts:

Session 1

Me:
Your Help pages state that "Non-business sellers can also set up listings to relist automatically up to three times for free". I have just listed my 40 free listings on this ID and the 3 free relists checkbox was not available.

Ritika S.
Can I have the item number please.

Me:
This is one example: xxxxxx

Ritika S.
Do you mind giving me 2-3 minutes to look into this for you?

Me:
OK

Without warning, the chat session ended about 2 minutes later.

Session 2

Me:
Your Help pages state that "Non-business sellers can also set up listings to relist automatically up to three times for free." I have just listed 40 items on this ID and the 3 free relist button was not available on any of them.

Sumit R.
The three automatic relisted button uses the free listings (my bolding, as this doesn't make sense)

Me:
I don't understand your answer. In the past, the 3 free relist checkbox was available at the end of each listing.

The chat session ended abruptly again.

Session 3

Me:
Your Help pages state that "Non-business sellers can also set up listings to relist automatically up to three times for free". I have just listed my 40 free listings on this ID and the 3 free relists checkbox was not available.

Kulsoom K.
May I have the item no. please.

Me:
Here is one example: xxxxxxx

Kulsoom K.
Please allow me 2-3 minutes to check this for you.

Kulsoom K.
Lyn, having checked your account I found that you have been upgraded to a regular seller and we give automatic relisting option to the new sellers only.

Me:
What is a 'regular' seller? And why do the Help pages do not mention that the free relists are given only to new sellers?

Kulsoom K.
I understand your concern but the contain in the help pages are written considering that a new user is going to have this.

Me:
The Help pages say that the auto relists are not available for business sellers. I am not a business seller, I don't have a store, and my sales are quite low (9 in last 60 days)

Kulsoom K.
I do understand but there are few things which are yet to be updated.

Me:
I wish ebay would make an announcement about these changes, and also make sure the help section is updated before the changes are introduced.

So basically, they are saying that the automatic free relists are only available to new sellers.

Getting to be beyond a Joke So Called C S cannot give the same reason all the time as it appears thre is not one. The lack of advice is disgusting too.

I did have the pleasure of responding to a survey on my dealings with CS over this matter but I doubt due to my Negative comments and Ratings any attention will be taken of it by Ebay.

Re: Free 3 relisting gone... Must use business policy.

So it's back to only listing 10 or so items per month until they sell and then maybe adding more.

Glad I've started bulk listing the DVD's as it's pointless listing single items if you get no free re-lists.

I've also sold 30 westerns on Facebook today for $40,(it just doesn't seem worth it listing them on here if I can get

that price on there).

At least it hopefully means the member who wins today's auction will get the three re-lists option, good.gif

Wouldn't be suprised if they knock the 40 free listings a month for casual sellers back down to 10 next month

I'm not working tomorrow, so I might give it a go myself. Maybe if enough people harrass them something might be done Green pigs might fly too!). I WILL NOT mention that as of yesterday I could still access them through the quick lister!! I haven't tried listing anything tonight with the quick lister, I'm a bit eBayed out at the moment.

Anyone else who contacts them, we'll compare notes tomorrow (or whenever).

I wonder whether the FOS could help.  After all, according to their help pages ebay tell us we qualify for something that we aren't getting.  I know they'd be quick to change the help pages but at least it'd get things sorted out.

Re quick lister vs advanced lister, not long after AR was made available, mine stopped working and when I contacted ebay about it I was told to try listing using the quick lister.  I'd never even seen it before and didn't know it existed!  I don't think it worked that way either but they restored AR on advanced listing soon after anyway.  Quick lister is no good to me because I rarely use parcels.  It explains why some newbie and very casual sellers quote parcel/satchel rates for items that could be posted for $1.40, but of course that's what ebay wants because they get extra selling fees on the postage.  What they're too stupid to realise is that buyers aren't completely stupid and they'll only pay up to a certain total amount, so what they gain in fees on postage they lose out on fees on the item.

Re: Free 3 relisting gone... Must use business policy.

A lot of my items aren't parcels either. You can still use the quick lister for large letters as you have the same postage options as the advanced lister......they just make it a bit harder to find! You need to select the "select postage myself" tab, then change the drop down box from "charge actual cost" to "charge fixed cost". Then you just select the postage option like you already do and insert the cost.

Not sure how it would go for over 500g parcels where there is a different cost for each state, but for small parcels and large letter, that works OK. I think the "charge actual cost" option might be the one for calculated postage as when I changed the weight for the purpose of this message, the quoted cost changed from $7.20 to $11.75-$24.15 (varies by buyers location).

The only real differences I can see between the 2 listing options is, the quick lister has set item specifics and you can't add your own (if you are creating a completely new listing). However, I did notice the other day that if you used the sell similar or relist option on a current/ended item and then changed to the quick lister, the item specific headings carried over (although they weren't filled in as all data is lost on the change over......as opposed to changing from the quick lister to advanced, where all the data does carry over).

You can only select 2 postage options in quick lister, as opposed to as many as you like in the advanced. You still have the option of adding extra options when sending an invoice. My large letter items I had standard post, registered and express. I've decided to go with the standard and express options, then add the registered option when/if an invoice is sent, or if a buyer requests it.

You can't add a page view counter to your listings with the quick lister, but that's no big deal for me as I can see page views on my selling page anyway. The last difference I noticed was, the maximum handling time you can have is 3 days. I had mine set at 5 days to fatten the delivery estimate out and also because on rare occasions, it's 4 or 5 days before I can get to the PO. I felt it gave me a bit of breathing space.

Re: Free 3 relisting gone... Must use business policy.

Thanks for all the work you've done on this, sheepie. I don't use all of my listings at the moment on the non-store ID but that'll change very shortly so this might help. Might...
