Ugh so time consuming! I'm the laziest Ebayer ever. Anyone have any strategies that help get one motivated and in the mindset? Do you put music on? Drink some booze? Do a set amount of listings each day? Etc
I have a carp load of footy cards to put up, which is going to be quite a pain... but got to get them in now that the season's about to start.

Thanks, I'll investigate that idea. I have a few up already, I've been listing them by teams. Most of my teams are missing a card or two, so that might be an idea. Despite that, I had a few bunches sell last year.

Yeah my stuff has been sitting there for yonks. I have heaps of new things to list (I think op shopping is my excuse for 'buying things to put on Ebay', so money - the spending of it - has indeed been a good motivator for *thinking about* Ebaying). I should probably reopen my store. I seemed to have more sales when I had one.

That brings new meaning to "I need a hand getting up in the mornings."

Here's one I use sometimes. If I'm going to take photos of clothes for 30 minutes; "Hey google, set a 30 minute timer."
I like wordless music when I'm working if I need to think about what I'm doing because it is less destracting. With so many free online streaming services (such as youtube or spotify or tune in), it's easy to find something to play. I like classic jazz.
I'd save alcohol as the after work reward. Too many little things to remember to do in the proper order.

I have a personal target that I should list at least $1000 worth of stock in a proper ebay weekday. Some days I set completely aside for listing and just keep working till I reach the target. Usually it takes from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm with the type of stuff I list.
If I spend half a day packing I try to list $400 - $500 worth of stock in the afternoon.
Often on weekends I slack out a bit and are happy with $1200 of listings for the weekend. Other times I might just do ten or fifteen easy low value listings before I break for the weekend.
By having specific targets, I am motivated to reach my goal as quickly as possible so that I can stop listing and do something else. And if I,m feeling a bit slack or running behind schedule, I can always cheat and find a few high value items to list.
