If the item was not collected within 7 days it will be returned to the seller.
I was under the impression that the buyer could not open a dispute if they did not collect the item from BigW/Woolworths.

i'd definitely just be showing that in the claim - that the tracking shows it sat at big w / woolworths for that length of time and you should have no problems winning any INR claim or dispute. reading the click & collect info page, you're 100% correct - ebay are supposed to notify the buyer via text / email that the item is awaiting collection.
i'd imagine that that should be an automated process and there is possibly an issue with the buyer not checking emails / ebay messages etc. if you're an expecting an item - who doesn't check the tracking themselves at least within 7 days? i know if i buy an item, i keep an eye on what's happening with them. regardless, it says that the buyer MUST collect the item within 7 days from their nominated click & collect location - so i can't see how in any way the seller could be at fault. stranger things have happened though.

There have been a few buyers come to the boards to say that they have never had an email from ebay with the code required to collect from Woolworths/BigW.
Nobody seems to know who to contact when this happens....and the item cannot be picked up without that vital code.
I used it as a buyer when it first started and there was a really good carrot (in the form of discount vouchers) dangled in out faces. I had no problem, apart from being emailed every day by ebay once the item was at BigW to tell me that if I did not pick the items up within a week they woud be returned to the seller.
After reading some of the problems that can arise I would never use it again under any circumstances.

We ceased off the service some time ago because as if coping with AusPost is not enough, with CnC you adding another link to the delivery chain (in both delivery time and process') and rely on BigW to do the right thing - which we found they were not at all reliable.
