We have had the weekend free listings for so long it felt permanent,. no i am told it will happen rotationally. but they have no idea how often that will be.
my problem is that i sell for other people that cannot do it themselves. They are well below the poverty line - like me and cannot afford a store either. these people also have mental health problems. now i will have to tell them that i cannot list their items any more. one has spoken of suicide, and this could tip him over the edge. I will have to have a medical team and an ambulance on stand by when i tell them. So i think i have a right to be disgruntled. You don't know other people's situation, but you certainly don't mind shooting them down.
While not wishing to comment on the ambulance thing, I finally get where you are coming from. You use the free listings to sell stuff for people with mental health issues who cant do it themselves. No more free listings and those people miss out on the extra bit of income you make for them. It might not be what ebay was designed for, but kudos to you for taking the time to help these people out.

Without meaning to sound harsh, ebay is a business and like any business, special promotions will come and go.
I've been reading complaints about the changes on dozens of threads and what it comes down to in my eyes is a lot of people hopped on the gravy train, which was fine, who wouldn't take advantage of special offers when selling.
But the problem is some people then expected it to be permanent. Nothing in life is permanent and these were always promoted as what they were- special offers, not part of the 'normal' fee structure. It is far too harsh to imply that ebay would in some way be to blame for tipping any of your friends over the edge.
I am not sure why you (person in red) say you cannot list items any more. Of course you can. But it may need a different business approach, where you factor in the fees and price the goods accordingly. My sister & I sold thousands of small and varied items many years ago (most of them used items, though not all, and not on this account I am posting under now) & we paid for each and every ad, plus we paid commission on every sale. We didn't charge much for our items, yet we still managed to make a profit. In hindsight though, we could have priced our items a bit higher. .Maybe you can, too.
Yes, those fees certainly added up each month, but the bottom line isn't the fees, it is about what is left after you pay the fees.
You also have other avenues where you can sell for free. Facebook marketplace and gumtree. I can understand it might be disappointing if the special deals have finished or if they don't come up as regularly or predictably as they used to, but when you tell your friends, try not to be all doom & gloom, just explain that there will need to be some changes made to how you go about selling.
